Micliele was a guest of the Brookshire Lions Club for the first two weeks session. Lion President Goates took her to Kerrville and her parents and her brother, Randall went last Friday for the program and they returned home Saturday. Michele is blind and has since last September learned to type and also uses a braille typewriter.

I went to camp crafts, arts and crafts, unit participation and swimming. In camp craft we learned how to raise the Flag we learned how to make a fire and we learned about snakes. After we learned this we went over night camping. At the over night camp out we had a pow wow. In arts and crafts there were many things to make.

I made a basket, a belt, a potholder, and a sunburst mat. I was happy to be chosen as the outstanding girl camper for Arts and Crafts. I got an award for this. In unit participation we sang songs told stories and played games. Our unit was the foxes, one night we made a camp fire on the hillside in the back of bunk house and we had a pow wow.

We had a circus banquet and then we had a carnival. The girls put on a stunt show. We had a water show. Mr. Townsend and his wife, the former Mae Barnes, have three children, Kathy Jo, age 10, Karen Ann, 5, and Kimberly Sue, one year old. They moved to Katy last week and reside in their new home at 1606 Heights Drive. They are members of the Baptist church. Mr.
