'S5 law game for the Cham pionship of the university At present it looks us st the high school has a pretty good show of winning the championship is year Hare arid hounds is beginning to take the field as a sport and more interest Is being manifested in the weekly runs this year than ever before A club has been organ ized and steps are being taken to place the runs on a permanent basis The track committee of the Athletic Association is encouraging this as they hope thus to de velop distance runners for next spring As astimulus to the runs prizes will be given later in the season and races as well as regular runs will be given The matter of an Intercollegiate hare and bounds run with some other western university is also being considered and an attempt will un doubtedly be made to carry out the plan At present the weekly runs are compara tively short being but for two or three miles but the distance will be gradually in creased as the men get in better condition The talks this
