S. A. Bastien spent Easier Sunday at the Bastien home. TRADE-IN YOUR OLD WATCH day was passed pleasantly and Mrs. Bastien, who has been ill, had recovered sufficiently to enjoy the day's visit with her family.

Those present were Mr. and Mrs. J. T. McDierman of Columbia, Mr.

and Mrs. Sam Bastien and three children, St. Louis, Mr. and Mrs. John Thompson and three children, East St.

Louis, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Bastien and children, St. Louis Mr. and Mrs.

Albert Bastien and son and Mrs. Mabel Borgsmiller and two children of this. city. Miss Liberty Balla and Dwight Throgmorton Married in Missouri Miss Liberty Balla, only daughter of. Frank Balla, and Dwight Throgmorton, son of Mr.

and Mrs. Malcom Thrognrorton, surprised their many friends Saturday -night announcing their marriage. They were married April. 3 at Jackson, Missouri. Miss Helen Sanders and Miss Leona Hofliensten witnessed the cei-emony.

At the present, Mr. and Mrs. Throgmorton are residing at the home of the bride's parents. Dinner Party Sunday for Dempsey Odum at Johnston City A birthday dinner -was served Sunday at home Mr. and Mrs.

Lawrence Odum of Johnston City in honor of Mr. Odum's lather, Dempsey. Odum, the occasion being his 74th birthday. Those present were Mrs. Pearl Blair, Buckner, and Mrs.

I Fred G. Odum and sons of Murphysboro, Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Odum and daughter. Mary Ann, Miss Odum, William Green of Chicago, Mr.

Coleman Saturday Evening Mrs. B. A. Coleman, mother of the Rev. B.

A. Coleman, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, -was surprised with a handkerchief shower Saturday evening at the 1 manse by the members of Circle No. 1 of the church. The evening was passed pleasantly and Mrs. Coleman received a number of lovely handkerchiefs and other gifts.

She is leaving very shortly for her home in New York after a several months' stay here with her sons, Rev. Coleman and Paul Coleman. Miss Luclle Roth Entertains for Guest Miss Lucille Roth entertained a group- of friends at her home, 202S Division street, Friday evening in honor of her house guest, Miss Velda Dawson, of St. Louis, Mo. The evennig was passed pleasantly by the following guests: Ruth Dixon, Helen'Black-wood, Dorothy Crew, Peggy Tinkler, Betty Earth, Virginia Johnson.

Basketball Club Annual Banquet Thursday Evening St. Andrew's Basketball club will hold its second annual ban- on Thursday, April 13, at 7:00 p. m. in. St.

Andrew's gym basement. This year's affair will be in of all the players who took part in the City Independent Basketbair league, which ran for ten weeks in St. Andrew's gym involving eix local clubs. Following the banquet in the basement, dancing will be enjoyed in the gym. Presbyterial Society Meets April 11 and 12 at Harrisburg Church The Women's Presbyterial.

So-, ciety for foreign missions of the Cairo Presbytery. Synod of Illinois, will meet at the First Presbyterian church in Harrisburg Tuesday and Wednesday, April 11 and 12. The theme of the meeting is "Christ and. the' "World Community" at home and abroad. An executive meeting at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning will be followed by the regular two-day sessions at 11 o'clock and will continue through Wednesday afternoon.
