A. B. Williams, 1431 West Park, Sunday In honor of her grandmother, Mrs. Alice Bowen, of San Antonio, who Is 00 years old, and who Is visiting in the homo. Although nearlng the century mark, Mrs.

Bowcn Is quite active and enjoys good health and her grandchildren enjoy hearing her tell stories of civil war days. She was the mother of three children, one of whom is still living, and she boasts of 10 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. On Sunday she had the pleasure of having four of her grandchildren, grout grandchildren and one great great grandchild, little Billy Cnson, with her. Those present were Mrs. W.

After lunch pictures wore made of the entire group, also groups of the father, mother and children, and group ol the grandchildren. The home-coming was planned as a surprise to Uncle Jack, and It worked perfectly.

All who know his jovial nature are aware of the joy it brought him. The surprise planned for Aunt Dora was the coming of her niece and family of Appointed Local Insurance Agent Miss Irene Martin, 20s Jester building, has been appointed local agent for the Mercury-Saint Paul Insurance company of Saint Paul. and will handle a general line of "fire, automobile and casualty insurance. Miss Martin has had many years experience in Insurance offices in Corslcana and is well qualified to handle any- kind of Insurance policy of this type. Married at Court House.

Barney Perry and Miss Lola Hlgglnbotham, both of Corslcana, wore married at the court house Wednesday afternoon. The ceremony was performed by Judg A. E. Foster. Family Mourning Only Is Decreed For Mother of Queen LONDON, Juna The state visit of King George and Queen Elizabeth to France was postponed until 'July 19 because of the death early today of the queen's mother, the Countess of Strathmore and Klnghorne, The visit had been scheduled for June 28.

The 76-year-old countess died In London with tho king and queen at her bedside. The funeral will be held next Monday at Glamls Castle, the storied family seat in Scotland. Earlier King George had decreed that only family mourning, not court mourtng, should be observed for the countess. LONDON, June George VI decreed only family mourning for Queen Elizabeth's mother, the 76-year-old Countess of Strathmore and Klnghorne, who died early today. He still had not decided, however, whether to alter plans for a royal visit he and Queen Elizabeth are scheduled to make to Paris next Tuesday.

The official announcement that there would be no court mourning for the countess, did not mention plans for the sovereigns' visit abroad. Wednesday Sewing Club Entertained By Mrs. E. Middleton Mrs. Elliott Middleton entertained the members of the Wednesday Sewing club at her home 1616 West First Avenue, Wednesday afternoon and had as on additional guest Mrs. Halsey Settle of New York City, who was formerly Miss Emy Nell Stroud.
