a a a Earl W. Miller I Earl Watson Miller, 85, who had been a salesman for the W. T. Raleigh Co. 30 years, died yesterday in a Phoenix hospital.

Mr. Miller, 1618 W. Linden, moved here four months ago from Portland, Ore. Services will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow in Lundberg's Chapel of Chimes, 5852 W.

Glenn Drive, Glendale. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Park. Mr. Miller, a native of Sedalia, is survived by a daughter, Ruth Miller of Phoenix, and a grandson. Minnie Morrison Services for Mrs.

Minnie Morrison, 39, will be at 10 a.m. SatBer-urday in New Home Baptist Church with the Rev. E. A. Hunter officiating.

Mrs. Morrison, 5019 S. 21st Place, died Saturday the Lackland AFB Hospital in San Antonio, Tex. Born in Nashville, she moved to Phoenix in 1960. Surviving are her husband, Sgt.

Willie Morrison; three sons, Van Cornell and Michael and a daughter, Debra, all of Phoenix; three sisters, and a brother, all out of state. Burial will be in 1 Greenwood Memorial Park, Webber and Sons Mortuary announced. William B. Darling WINSLOW-Services for William Bonnar Darling, 73, will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Elks auditorium.

The Rev. William Vogel of the United Pres-. byterian Church and Elks Lodge officers will officiate. Burial will be in Desert View Cemetery. Mr.

Darling died Saturday in Los Angeles after a long illness. He was born in Pacific Grove, and came to Winslow in 1921. He was a division engineer for the Santa Fee Railway until his retirement in 1958. Mr. Darling was a past commander of the American Legion post here, a past master of the Masonic Lodge, a member of the El Zaribah Temple of the Shrine and of Eldks Lodge 536.

Survivors include his wife, Naomi; two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth David of Missouri and Mrs. Margaret Iler of Winslow; two grandchildren and a sister, Elsie Darling of California. Friends may call at Scott Mortuary from 7 to 9 p.m. today and until service time tomorrow.

Surviving are her husband, Howard; a brother, George Mowitt of Grinnell, Iowa; and a sister, Mrs. Julina Coulter of San Bernardino. Estelle Markowski Rosary for Mrs. Estelle M. Markowski, 79, will be recited at 8 p.m.

Mr. Harris, 3612 W. Coolidge, moved to Phoenix in 1923 from Lawrence, his birthplace. He was a' World War I veteran. Services will be at 3:30 p.m.

Summers APACHE JUNCTION--Duran H. Summers, 67, a retired colonel and flight surgeon for the Air Force, died Sunday of a heart attack en route to his home at Kings Ranch here. Mr. Summers was a flight surgeon for the 3535th Bombardment Training Wing before retiring and moving here 10 years ago from Russellville, Ark. A veteran of both World Wars, he was awarded the Silver Star and the Bronze Star during World War II.

He took part in the Philippine and New Guinea campaigns. Mr. Summers, a native of Malvern, Iowa, is survived by his wife, Ruth M. Friends may call at Desert View Chapel, 9702 E. Apache Trail, Mesa, from 2 to 9 p.m.

He came here from troit. He was born in Altoona, Pa. He was a member of the Miami Lions Club, the Order of Eastern Star and Elks Lodge. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m, tomorrow in Miles Mortuary. Elder Paul Bear of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will officiate.

Barbara Johnson of Ontario, Calif. Curtis O'Connor Curtis O'Connor, 75, a retired plumber and pipefitter who moved to Phoenix eight years ago from Alton, died yesterday in a Phoenix hospital. Mr. O'Connor, 1511 E. Clarendon, was born in Troy, Ind.

Blakeslee, 73, died yesterday in Gila General Hospital after a short illness. A six-year resident of Globe, Mr. Blakeslee came here from Payson. He was born in Minnesota. A polio victim, he was not employed.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday in Walker's Globe Mortuary. The Rev. Donald Smith will officiate. Interment will be in Globe Cemetery.

Surviving is a son, Wesley of Portland, Ore. Canal Parks Subject of Valley Meet An Intercity Parks and Recreation Committee to guide Maricopa County's canalside parks program is expected to be formed next week. The committee would be made up of representatives of chambers of commerce in Tempe, Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert and Apache Junction. Formation of the committee was set yesterday at a meeting at Mesa Country Club attended by county officials and representatives of four of the five towns involved. Eddie Brown, director of the county parks and recreation department, outlined preliminary plans for the proposed network of parks along canals in the Valley.

Among those attending were Henry Shipley, associate general manager of Salt River Project. R. W. Mumaw of the Mesa Chamber of Commerce was chairman of the session. The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors recently allotted $5,000 each for preliminary planning on two proposed park sites, on Crosscut Canal near Papago Park and Arizona Canal near 16th Street in Phoenix.

Two Ex- Convicts Fined, Released SCOTTSDALE Two men arrested Sunday in company with a fugitive sought in a $19,000 New York jewel theft were released yesterday after paying $125 fines for failing to register as ex-convicts. They are Charles Bordoni, 59, and James Reed, 65, who were arrested along with Tindaro Joseph Alfano, 33, one of three men wanted in connection with the Aug. 30 diamond theft from a Latham, N.Y., jewelry store. Detective Sgt. Dave Townsend said the FBI found nothing to link Bordoni and Reed with the diamond theft.

The two pleaded guilty before magistrate Ed Boyle to charges of failing to register as ex-convicts. Alfano is being returned to New York to face prosecution.
