The free-gas offer was made by the company when it was organized. At that time there were a few heaters placed thruout the town hall.

In the ensuing years however, more gas heating units have been added and the utility company discovered that it gave away $45 worth of gas last month alone. Council met to discuss the matter in special session Wednesday night. It decided to initiate economy measures by reducing the number of heaters. Three radiators heated by gas are to be disconnected immediately and consumption of gas will be watched closely hereafter, it was stated. Remaining will be two small heaters in the jail block, one in the mayor's office and another in the fire department.

An extra stove will be purchased for the fire department rooms--a coal stove. 2.32 6.01 .70 27.79 9.19 18.80 11.08 3.81 13.13 .62 .50 6.28 .76 10.52 .42 15.60 5.20 .08 16.40 7.19 2.24 GIVES DISTRICT REPORT A report of the recent district meeting of Music clubs was given by Mrs. George Erode when the Newcomerstown Music Study club met Wednesday evening at the home of Mrs. G.
