estate It is but a small estate of $10000 but the princi ple involved may concern many hundreds of thousand dollars The executor is Burton and ho insisted that the estate be spread upon the rolls if the sixteenth ward and not in the second as has been done The custom for many years past in Detroit has been to assess estates in the ward where the executors live or where the money is on deposit which has always re sulted in heavy valuation for the second ward in which are located the great ma jority of banking houses and the great of fice buildings the headquarters of the at torneys that handle most estate affairs Mr Burton said that he owned property In almost every ward in the city and he was interested in having the wealth of the city flattened out as much as possible Corpo ration Counsel lowers said that the law specified that estates should be assessed in the place where last lived the testator and that departures from this practice have been wrong The board will undoubtedly
