Explain Special to The ree Prese and Chicago Tribune Washington May The bom bardment of Attorney General Daugherty' from congress continu ed Thursday Representative Woodruff Michigan Republican made public a letter written to Mr Daugherty by Scaife an in vestigator recently dismissed from the department of justice for fur nishing information about war con tract frauds to Woodruff and Rep resentative Johnson South Dakota Scaife called upon the attorney general to answer the charges ot his failure to prosecute contract ors who plundered the government or resign "The records wilt show" said the Scaife letter "that various cases which were prepared for trial hkve lain dormant in your department for months after you had been re quested by the chairman of the select committee on war expendi tures to ask congress for any amount of money necessary if you should need funds to prosecute these cases You made Tio request for such funds until after Hon Royal Johnson offered an amend
