(Feb. l6-3t) Lindy Returns Home After a few days' stay in the hospital at San Angelo, a short visit with the son, Clifford Smith, and family of Miles, A. P. Smith and wife are at home, also the other daughter, Mrs.

Evelyn Smith, accompanied us to San Angelo, visiting her son, Dwight McEachern, and family, spending this week-end with us. The husband, Jimmie Smith, and son, T. were dinner guests in this home Sunday, returning in the afternoon with Mrs. Smith to their home at Tall. Lindy is now feeling just like a nillion, sitting by our own fireside, eating meals at home with a few visits of friends and relatives, deceiving a few cards and letters of which we are appreciative, and old time schoolmates bringing back sweet memories of childhood days with recalling of a few of the old time pretty girls.

That was indeed cheerful and pood memories of better days that have gone by forever. But Lindy dearly loves to live over and over with you. Mrs. Garrctt. Here's hoping you will regain health and happiness rapidly.

Mrs. Johnnie Rowe is here for an extended visit with her mother, Mrs. Hetta Coffey. Dit Shaw and Clayton Wiley of San Saba were Locker guests Sunday. Mr.

and Mrs. H. R. Smith from Grove were recent visitors of their parents, Mr. and Mrs.

Jack Pierce. Mrs. George Coins is visiting relatives in Brownwood. All school children enjoyed the week-end at home, as the teachers attended a teachers' meeting at Brady. A school play was enjoyed by a large crowd Friday night of last week.

T. M. Sofge and family were visitors of the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Felix Coehran of Brownwood.

Sidney Neal and family of Spring Creek were Sunday afternoon visitors of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Taylor.

James Bradley and family from Fort Stockton are here visiting the parents, Uncle Jack Pierce and family, and three sisters, the two Mrs. Standlees and Mrs. Denver Shaw. J. J.

Johnson was a Saturday visitor of San Saba. Mrs. ff. C. Wade and baby daughter of Goldthwaite spent the week-end with her parents, Bob Coehran and family.

Hubert Bolton and family from Bowser were last week visitors of Prentice Goodloe and family. A community birthday party was 'njoyed in the home of Sammy Hickman and wife Saturday night. Lindy was very sorry not to be able to attend, as the honoring all who had a birthday" in she was one of the lucky number, birthday being the 16th. Sidney Neal and family were the guests of their parents, Jim Neal and wife Sunday. Alonzo Grant and family were in Brownwood Saturday, having dental work done for Mrs.

Grant. Her teeth were extracted. Sunday afternoon being visitation day with Mrs. J. A.

Parks and her sister. Miss Velma Lindsey, thoy made an appreciative call to see this writer. More visitors are invited as Lindy is advised by all doctors to remain on both crutches at least 8 weeks. Visitors are invited to call at all hours of the day and at night also. Some few farmers have begun to break land, but more are eager to jret land broke, as it seems.

Sand storms are coming early and expected late also, judging 'from groundhop day, and that thunder on the third day of February means frost in April, which is a very old saying, but nevertheless, it pays to take warning each year, as it very near holds good. So no corn will be planted on the 14th of this month. Stock feeding' yet prevails. Spring Creek tm Sick Girl Honored A pie supper was given at Spring Creek in honor of Mary Bell Whitley, daughter 'of Mr. Mrs.

Buddy Whitley, who is confined to her bed with a bad infection. Miss Whitley has been under the care of several doctors during the past six years but cures have been only temporary and it is the wish of the entire" family she be permanently cured by the treatment prescribed by Dr. Sealy of Santa Anna. People from Spring Creek and visitors from other communities were very generous in taking part in the pie supper for so worthy a cause. A sum of fifteen dollars was raised which is ample to supply medicine during her 21 day confinement.

Anyone doing the slightest deed of kindness for their physically depressed daughter receives their heartiest thanks. They especially thank Herb Taylor for his help at the supper in selling the pies, those wo have brought gifts and those who are nightly caring for Mary Bell. They wish everyone to know how appreciative they are for all courtesies. Rev. Slieger filled his Sunday appointment at the Church of Christ.

A goodly number was present, including Mrs. Jim Edgins, who, tho unable to walk alone after her lengthy illness, was assisted by friends. Mrs. Edgins was very happy to have gone to services again. Mrs.

Dee Rutherford is improving but is still confined to her bed. A Valentine party for the school will have been given when this goes to press. Young and old love Valentines. Smith and Robert Chapman of Rich land Springs, Mrs. Thomas Cummings and baby, Fayvette, Martha Eunice Sparkman and of course Bob Coehran, who was 59 years old, and his family.

Locker Junior Reporter, Shorty Birthday Dinner Bob Coehran was surprised with a grand delicious birthday dinner Sunday. Those present were: Mrs. J. C. Wade of Goldthwaite and baby, Bai-bara June, Mr.

and Mrs. Walter Mrs. L. W. Smith and daughter, Pauline, were in Richland Springs Saturday afternoon.

H. R. Maxcey, Raymond Cawyer and Johnnie Ruth Coffey saw the show at Richland last Friday night. The Richland bus ran the regular route. The ones from Locker at the pie supper Friday night at Neal were Miss Pauline Smith, Earl Parks and H.

M. Taylor, who was auctioneer. The Locker teachers and Mrs. H. M.

Taylor of Locker, who is teaching at Bethel, attended the teachers' meeting at Brady Friday. We were sorry to hear of Mrs. A. P. Smith's misfortune last week But we are glad to say that she is at home now and we hope is feeling fine.

Smith and daughter, Pauline, and Miss Rudeen Hendricks were at the show at San Saba last Tuesday night. and -Mrs. A. C. Grant and children were in Brownwood Saturday where Mrs.

Grant is having some dental work done. Raymond Cawyer was in Richland Springs Friday on business. E. A. Taylor and son, 0.

W. Taylor were also in Richland Springs Saturday afternoon. L. W. Hendricks and J.

A. Parks were business visitors in San Saba Tuesday. Ike Smith of Bowser was in our little town shopping Saturday. Mr. Alderson, one of our respected, teachers, spent the week-end in Brownwood.

Ernest and Earl Massey were in Locker Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Jim Neal was in San Saba, to see Dr. Stone, Thursday. Mr.

T. Sparkman were in San Saba Tuesday. George Murray visited Sam Hickman Saturday afternoon and Saturday night for the party. Mac Wooldridge visited his mother in Brownwood Thursday. Rev.

W. T. Sparkman filled his regular appointment this week-end at High Valley. Mrs. Hetta Coffey and her daughter, Johnnie Ruth, went to San An- gelo after another one oi ters, Carrie Frances, who in the sanitarium, Monday.

Mrs. W. T. Sparkman, and little Mary Gertrude ate with her daughter, Mrs. Parks, Sunday.

Reta May Sparkman spent the with Armeda Crawford Sunday. I understand that Jessie May Sofge spent the afternoon with Johnnie Ruth Coffey. Rev. Hardth preached hero Sunday at the Methodist Church. There was a very nice crowd at the school program and everyone enjoyed it very much.

There will be singing here Friday night, and please, everybody come. Bring your listeners and especially your pianists. How about it? Cari't you spend the time and energy to come and be with us I'm sure you would enjoy it, and we would just be tickled to death to have you. Remember church services held here this week-end by Rev. W.
