mangled perineum wound extending into the abdomen with protrusion of bowels togsther wi tip fracture of the hip and pelvic bones ana a severely mangled foot and leg requiring amputation Deputy Coroner Adams waa notified immediately after the death and held an inquest Sloan watchman at the depot atatad that ha first saw Mallory under the wheels of the car and in attempting to draw him from under his legs were caugbt end badly lacerated that the train was going very slow he had hi ticket end supposed to be getting on the train going tooth and that only two wheels of the car passed over him Powell woe sitting on a rock in front of the depot and saw Mallory fall off his head first struck tbe curbstone and tbe train ran over hia hip he saw Mr Sloan and Wm Mills pull him out and in attempting to get him out his legs were thrown around under the passing wheels Wallace Nelens a bootblack had polished his ehoee only a short while before tbe train left that be was not drunk but may have been drinking some William Miller the foreman of car repairs for tbe railroad was in tbe depot and saw Mallory first just as the train entered the gang-way He wrs holding to the train with hia feet apparently on the steps of tlie car and his shoulders bent back in a falling position Tbe witness at once called and gave the signal for the train to stop When it did atop the body wrs under tbe last
