12 (UPI) President Eisenhower today endorsed as "a wonderful a privately-sponsored project to send the Navy hospital ship Consolation on a goodwill mission to Southeast Asia. The President said he knew of "no better way in which you could bring to many thousands of people, many millions, the concern of the United States in humanitarian things." At his news conference, the President also gave assurances that the Navy would release the World War II ship from its Pacific Coast mothball fleet as soon as sufficient money is raised to assure success of the project.
