As I remarked in the ahrive publication I think (lie wheels upon the improvement made on Mr. Johnstons mill were not properly proportioned. 1 have since my liite publication seen Mr. Johnston he ascribe the. failure of his mill to want of size and substance in one of the wheels.

I agree with him and had determined i to enlarge the small wheel on the tub shaft, the one of winch my wheels avo in future east. B. H. CERTIFICATES.

This is to certify, that Mr. Hucltaby has erected one of his ne wly improved patent Cotton Gins conn cled with a horse mill on my plantation four miles south of Nashville i and from an experiment that I have made, it proves that with pne horse my gin will pick three thousand pounds' of cotton in twelve hours, and with power it will pick- twenty-five hundred weight of cotton and grind twenty bushels of meal, both machines in operation together, and in the same length of time. I think it an improvement that promises great utility to the fanner, and one for which the inventor deserves public patronage. Oct. 15.
