Great personal -popularity of thenev: Gov ernor The great Telegraph Suit Its slow progress Mr. Morse and his pretty wife The re tiring Governor. t3j-c, 6c. Frankkoht, Sept. ISIS.

Ta lite KUitor of the Morning Courier: This is Inauguration The Honorable .1. Crittenden took ihe oath of office as Uorernor of this Commonwealth in Ihe presence of a large audience of ladies and gentlemen. At o'clock a nroeession was formed on Capitol Square, and marched to Ihe residence of Mr. Criltenden, pre. reded by a band of fine music.

From thence, ihe procession marched 10 the front steps of. the Capi tol, where Willis C.l-Iughes, of Union, in behalf of the people of Kentucky, delivered anap propriate address'to the Governor elect. Mr. Criltenden then delivered a brief and eloquent -inaugu ral, in which he thanked the people for the honor of electing him their ChiefMagistrate; andconcln ded by saving, that if at the close of his adminis- iralion, he satisfiedjthem, he had been faithful to their interests, he would feel more gratification and pleasure in retiring from office, than he then did in assuming its duties. He will commence the execution of the duties of Governor lo-morrow.

His first official act, I presume, will be the appointment of a Secretary of Stale. It is generally understood, that Orlando Brown, of this town, will receive the appointment. He is a gentleman of line moral character, and ofa high order of talent. He was for many years the editor of the 'Commonwealth," and during the time that paper was under his control, if acquired the reputation in the West, what the National Intelligencer has always had throughout the entire Union, 1 might say over all Europe, the champion of high, elevated and conservative views on all political questions. That the interests of the people of this Commonwealth will be sale in the hands of John J.

Crittenden, no man, of whatever sect or party he may belong, will doubt. He. goes into office with a larger share of persona! popularity perhaps than any man who has ever lived in the State: and my word for il, his administration will be such that insiead of diminishing, he ivill add to his present popularity. The argument in the great Telegraph law suit is not yet concluded; Mr. Loughborough will conclude the argument on the part of the plaintiffs, Morse to-morrow.

Fourteen days will then have been occupied in the trial of the case; more time, perhaps, than, has ever been occupied in the i rial of any case in America before, The trial of Warren Hastings, on articles of impeachment, oc cupied, Ithink, eight years. But this Telegraph case is only amotion for an injunction. If it re quires fourteen days to hear a motion in Ihe case, how long will it take to try it on final hearing on the merits? I leave that for lawyers to decide. 'UnderourState laws, a lawyer can write a bill in chaneery'3nd gel an order for an injunction in a jfiost any sort of case, before he eals his break Cast. But.

the Federal Courts move with more caution and circumspection. The District Judge is very patient in listening to all the arguments. oral or written, which the parties present for his Mr. Morse and his beautiful young wife have hceti in conct eyerv duysihee the argument ol lite rase commenced. can form no opinion when the oourt will decide the cese, perhaps not for several weeks.

Ex-Governor Owsley will leave in ihe morning for his residence in Boyle County. His public Jil'e may he regarded as having closed. A Cnryt. Ook. Cask.

A crim. con. case came to light a few evenings since, in Philadelphia. A jealous p.ited fiusbo-ljil having had snsuieions tli at his Jady to-wjiojpjje been bin, a (Wv-months married, was iinfuithi'ii! Jo her vow.s, laid a plan by which to ascertain whether Us suspicions worp correct, lie pretended that 'he was abcii'. to iakp a voyage to New York; but returning alter nightfall to the vicinity of his residence, he saw lie gallant that he suspected, make his way into she house, oblaining access so easily, as to prove conclusively that his coming was expected.

The husband, aided by some friends, at a late hour in the night, burst in the front door, and on proceeding to 'the bed-chamber, discovered the fair one aui fjer paramour in rather awkward situations. The incensed husband had a pistol with him, but heing which to shoot in the ebulli-uoii of his wrath, both escaped. The gallant is an apprentice to the printing lousiness, not more than 20 years of age. The wife is quite youthful and pfeiiy, and her paramour was a favorite ijefore marriage, had been cutout by the present husband, wh3 being engaged in the coasting trade: betweeu this ciy and 3STew York, enabled the continuance of an intimacy which is believed to have existed previous to the marriage. We learn from James Brooks, Presidentof the New Albany and Salem Railroad, that there has been an order forwarded to Philadelphia for the purchase of three locomotives for the use of said road, one of which will he received at this city towards the close of November, We also leant from Mr.

H. that the work is being prosecuted with considerable energy and success, and that the iron for the rails has been ordered. Our friends at a distance may soon expect to hear die completion of the road announced, and the people along the line look out for the first greeting of tUe "Iron poney." by a long and loud snort from his iron lungs. Nev Albany Bulletin, Venter day. Ye Kkew it would be so.

Within the last two weeks there has been a tremendous revulsion of feeling among Whigs of Ohio. Multitudes of those wTio' were and wavering have fallen into line and are now gallantly battling in the ranks of Old Zack. In a few days the 1840 enthusiasm will be revived and Gen. Taylor, in November next, will be borne into the Presidential chair by a majority that few expected he would receive a' few weeks ago. Dayton (O.) Transcript.

It was productive of no result, however, except une of the most humorous conceptions in all Mar-ryatt's fictions, the description of the "triangular rJuel" in "Mid shin man Easy." The follownictwo certificates are selected from a great number received this week: New York, April 1, 1817. Dr. 1wnsend; Dear Sir One of my children was verv sick with a Canker in the mouth and throat, atten ded with great debility. It came near dying. I obtained some of vour excellent medicine.

Dr. Townsend, not having leslcd his Sarsaparilla In cases of Fits, of cunjr.se never recommended it, and was surprised to receive the following from an intelligent and respeciauie larmer esicnesier county; Fohduam, AugusMS, 1347.

Dr. Tnwnsaid: Dear Sir 1 hare a little girl seven years of age, who has been several years afflicted with Kits; we tried almost everything for her, but without sue cess; at last, although we could find no recommendation in our circulars for cases like liers, we thought, as she was in very delicate health, we would give her some ot your Sarsaparilla, and are very glad wo did, for it not only restored herslrenglh, butske has had no return of the Fits, to our great pleasure and surprise. She is fast becoming rugged and hearty, for which we feel grateful. Yours, respectfully. JOHN BUTLER, Jr.

Female Medicine. Dr. Townsend'sSarsaiiavtllalsa sdverelsn and speedy cure for Incipient Consumption, Barrenness, -Prolapsus men, or i-aiungorine womu, rues, jjeii. eorrhaft, or Whites, obstructed or difficult Menstruation, Incontinence of Urine, or involuntary discharge thereof, and for the general prostration of the syutemho matter whether the result ui ninerent cause or causes, produce byirreeularitv, illness or accident. Nothing can be mor surprising than its invigorating effects on the human frame.

Persons all weakness ami lassitude, from taliiii" it, at once become robust and full of energy under its influence. It immediately counteracts the nerve I ess 11 ess of the female frame, which is the great cause of barrenness. It will not be expected of us, in cases of so deli-cate a nature, to exhibit certificates of cures performed, but we can assure the afflicted that hundreds of cases have been reported Thousands uf cases where families have been without children, after using a few bottles of this invaluable medicine, have been blessed with lhie healthy offspring. To Mothers and Married Ladles. This extract of Sarsaparilla has been expressly prepar-ed in referenee to female complaints.

No female who has reason to suppose she is approaching that critical period, "the turn ol life," should neglect to take it, as it is a cer-tain preventive for any of the numerousand horrible dis-eases to which arc subject at this time of life. This period may be delayed for several years by using this medicine. Nor is it less valuable for those who are approaching womanhood, as itis calculated to assist na ture, by quickening the blood and invigorating the system. Indeed, this medicine is invaluable lor all the deli-1 cate diseases to which-women are subject-It braces the whole system, renews permanently the natural energies, by removing the impurities of the body, not so far stimulating as to produce subsequent relaxation, which is the case of most medicines taken for fe. male weakness and disease.

By using a few bottles of this medicine, many severe and painful surgical operations may be prevented. Grent Blessing to Mothers and Children. It is the safest aim most efTfctual medicine tor purifying the system, and relieving the sufferings attendant upon child-birth ever discovered. It strengthens both the mother and child, prevents pain and-disease, increases and enriches the food, those who have used it think it is indispensable. Itis highly useful both before and after confinement, as it pre vents diseases attendant upon childbirth in Costiveness, Piles, Cramps, Swelling of the Feet, Despondency, Heartburn, Vomiting, Pain in the Back and Loins, False Pains, Hemorrhage, and in regulating the secretions and equalizing the circulution it has no equal.

The great beauty or this medicine is," it is always safe, and the most delicate use Is most successfully, very few cases require any other medicine, in some a little Castor Oil, or Magnesia, is useful. Exercise in the open air, and light food with this medicine, will always ensure D-salc. and easy confinement. Beauiy and Health. A free, active ami healthy circulation ofvthe fluids, or the cbunungof the pure, rich blood to the eiremities, is that which paints the countenance in the most exquisite beauty. It is.Yhat which imparts the indescribable shades and flashes of loveliness that all admire, but hone can describe.

Tlqs beauty is the offspring of nature not or soap. If there is not a t'rpp and healthy circulation, there is no beauty. If the lady is fair as driven snow, if she painty and use cosmetics, and the blood is thick, cold and impure, she is not beautiful. If she be brown or yellow, and there is pure and active blood, it gives a rich bloom to the cheeks, and a brilliancy to their eyes that is fascinating. This is why the Southern, and especially tlie Spanish ladies, are so much admired.
