Oil Co Producers Terminal Corporation uel Oil Distribution Corporation Tank Ship Building Corporation 200000 shares is now being offered to the public for a few days at $8 the proceeds of which is to build large ocean going tank ships and other equipment The company is now producing about 10000 barrels of oil per day and this production will soon be greatly increased It has now in operatibn a line of oil barges plying between the oil fields and gulf ports and are increasing its transportation as rapidly as possible It owns and controls 46 square miles of what is considered amongst the best oil lands in the Tampico fields It has contracts now for over 7000000 bar rells of oil and can sign up for many times more as soon as its transportation and delivery facilities are adequate It has an earning power on the present issued capital of about 4Q and when its transportation facilities are increased it is estimated that the earn ings will be much greater If you have kept any track of the oil situation this past few years you can harcy help but realize the enoftnous future there is for the consumption of oil Many big Mercantile Marine Companies are adopting the use of oil fuel as well as other large industries when oil is obtainable The United States navy will largely be using oil for fuel from now on In fact oil has so many advantages over coal for fuel purposes that in the next three years its use will increase beyond any expectation To give you a couple of illustrations: American Hawaiian steamship made two trips one under coal and one under oil fuel The voy age was from New York to Pacific and Hawaiian ports and then back to Philadelphia via the Straits of Magellan With coal the voyage took 186 days and with oil 161 days Time saved by oil voyage was 25 days on the round trip 18 days of this bring saved as the result bf increased speed and 7 days by quicker loading (The item of quick loading Is very important since a large ship that takes two days in loading its coal can be loaded with oil in four hours) The actual saving in time due to higher speed and quicker clearance from ports was 134 There was saved on the oil burning trip $4813 in victualing the men $12 500 lower expenses due to the 25 days shorter running time $1000 in less disbursements in fueling ports $1275 gained in revenue from increase in freight Space a total bf $19500 saved or equal to a reduction in operating cost of the vessel of over 207o Another instance of a New England industrial plant which his in commission 15 boilers of 5800 When burning coal it employs 63 men including firemen ash handlers and coal past ers Mexican uel Oil was introduced and the plant Is now operated by 7 men What can be done with existing boiler plants is shown by a test made by the Jenckes Spinning Company of Pawtucket I The boiler plant has a theoretical capacity of 1500 A 24 hour test using the best steam coal (Pocahontas) 389 was developed Using Mexican uel Oil the same boilers developed 1550 Manufacturers wishing to extend their plants can make such extension up to 40 or 50 increased capacity without having to expend a dollar more on their boiler houses Numerous illustrations of this kind could be cited which simply goes to show that such an enterprise as the SOUTHERN OIL TRANS PORT CORPORATION combining at it does not only the production of oil but owning its own fields its own transportation its own terminals its own refineries its own ship building plants makes the outlook for it one of the greatest of such in dustries We are now offering the stock at $8 per share and anticipate that it will sell much higher very soon We strongly recommend it either as a specu lation or permanent investment arid will be pleased to furnish full particulars JOHN shortly The unsold tonnages of Jackson county silveriM for de livery during the balance of this year and the first half of 117 are diminishing so rapidly that an ad vance ot 1 a ton on all grades has
