The golf course increases would raise an estimated additional $177,710 for the cily in the next fiscal year. Green fees for nine-hole coursei would rise from $1.75 to $2 between June Land Aug. 31 and from $2 to $2.25 between Sept 1 and May 31.

Fees for senior citizens and those under 17 would also increase. Deleted from the Phoenix Mountains Preserve would be 4.7 acres on Sunny-slope Mountain at Second Avenue and Mountain View Road. that station and Channel 12 to make a comprehensive presentation on the proposal before taking action on it Chuck Christiansen, director of city parks, recreation and libraries, told the board that the city's main concern is that the site for the proposed tower and transmitter building be used properly. In the meantime, however, television employees working on the mountain and users of South Mountain Park could be exposed to dangerous radiation levels, Flood said. "I'm not saying there is a health hazard but there is a potential for one," he said.

The three board members present, Parks and Recreation Bard member Dorothy Gilbert said she had received information indicating that the combined operations might increase radiation on South Mountain to a hazardous point Ray Echols, a city communications official, conceded that federal agencies are worried about the level of radiation emitted by television facilities, but he said no agency has taken responsibility for regulating it Echols also said he is concerned about interference with existing communication systems if Channels 15 and 33 were allowed to operate. John Flood, an attorney representing Channel 3, asked the board to permit The television proposal calls for construction of an integrated tower and transmitter building for Channel IS, a planned commercial station, and Channel 33, a planned Spanish-speaking station. Legend of Cibola Television Co. of New York City would operate Channel 33 as part of the U.S. Spanish Television Network.

Channel IS would be operated by New Television which is based In the town of Paradise Valley. Officials of the two broadcasting firms said they hope the UHF stations would be operating by Oct. 1. The board also approved proposed increases in city golf course fees and a request for deletion of about 4.7 acres from the Phoenix Mountains Preserve to allow residential development.
