This $1000 increase will be at Denver Col Newark Louis ville Ky Indianapolis Ind Roches ter and SC Paul Minn The first five will be advanced from $4000 to $5000 and the last St Paul from $5000 to $6000 The number of in creases this year are 259 in excess of last year and is the largest in the history of the postal service the next largest number being in 1900 when there were 1914 There will be 219 reductions aggre gating $25800 apportioned as follows: 191 at $100 20 at $200' five at $300 and three at $400 While this number is larger than for either 1899 or 1900 it is considerably below the average of all years Twenty four offices of the second class will be advanced to the first dess and 110 from the third to the sec ond class Two offices (Nevada Mo and loral Park Y) will be rele gated
