obliged to discontinue my work and take a superannuated relation hoping rest from my study and pastor 1 work would benefit me but I foued no relief Last year I began treatment at your branch office at I believe your mode of treating Catarrh etc to be the very beet With gratitude I am yours truly REV VALENTINE Pastor Church Cooper Mich Rev Wigle of Concord Mich says: Dr Hilton Williams Dear Allow me to express my unfeigned gratitude for what you have done for me Having suffered from Catarrh for the last five years I had used more tiren a dozen rem edies incluaing the most highly recommended in I am confident that your rcmecies are more than a match for this troublesome disease Youts very truly REV WIGLE Concord Mich rom Rev iske President Albion College Albion Mich formerly pastor Central Church Detroit Mich: Dr Williams Dear Sir I am glad to add my testimony to the efficacy of the treatment my son has received In the spring of 1S77 my son then at the age of twenty three was suffering from a severe affliction of the bronchial tubes and lungs so as to be compelled to keep his room and the most of the time his bed Within the space of two weeks he experienced about a dozen hemorrhages from which the ordinary remedies afforded but temporary relief I applied to you who supplied him with the inhaling medicines which affected an immediate arrest of the bleed ing and which never occurred since he began the inhalation All the other symptoms havo im proved and I am confidently expecting his com plete restoration to health I claim and am prepared at acy moment to demonstrate the justice of the claim that under this practice evbky casb of catarrh may be cured The closest investigation is invited and the more carerful and thorough the inquiry the more apparent will be the truth of the statement that It is the true mods of cube not only of this disease but of kindred complaints The facility with which tne remedy is conveyed to the numerous memoranes is as astoniahin as Its effects are gratifying The time hw come when medical inhalations are believed to be the acme of medical science in soch cases and know ing this discovery to be one of vast imortance it would be culpable to withhold it or neglect to place it before the multitude of sufferers who have the of the profession from one doctor to another only to learn that death is the only hope of relief It is easy to decry any improvement but truth is ever finally victorious I make no secret of this system but am prepared in a proper manner to place it before the profession and the public I again invite Time at Aiiumpilon Col lette Sandwich At one Saturday the students of Assumption College whd were playing out side the college buildings noticed smoke Issuing from the windows of the study room and aleo from the basement They ran and informed Mr one of the teachers of the danger An attempt was made to enter the study room but smoke drove the party back The boys and teachers smashed in all the windows of the study room to let the smoke out and assisted by the crowd that had collected quantities of snow and palls of water were dashed on the burning floor Meanwhile a panic seemed to seize the pupils Those who were in the buildings rushed to get out and those who were out scrambled to get in to save their books and clothing re gardless of the danger By this time the large college buildings were filled with smoke so dense that it was impossible to do anything towards removing what was inside Mr alls a teacher with Conneil and Heiffel two of the pupils could not find the stairway in the suffocating and blinding smoke so they did the next best thing and smashed a second story window and jumped to the ground The deep snow bank sated the jumpers from any injury but James Connell cut the second finger of his left hand so badly with broken glass that it was at first thought he would lose the mem ber Dr Casgrain however thinks it will speedily resume its former vigor The alarm was sent to Windsor and created quite a consternation In that town as it was feared the college would be destroyed before help could reach it The steamer and hose cart promptly responded to the call and dashed down Sandwich street towards the ancient town with smoke flying an gong ringing The engine whirled past the toll gate and then got irretrievably stuck in the snow and so far from getting the fire cut it get out itself Two horses galloped wiiaiy away with it four horses brought it sadly back to Windsor again with snow clogged wheels and extinct fires It never saw Sandwich except affar off Meanwhile the teachers kept the boys neafly ninety of them in excellent order after the first excitement wore off and assisted by the Sandwlchers and numbers of Windsorites who sped swiftly the scene in sleighs tha flooring of the study room was torn up and the basement was liberally treat ed with the cold water cure rind after an exertions the fire was mastered Both tsachers and pupils deserve great credit for the warm recaption or cool reception rather they gave the fire There is little doubt that but for the vigorous measures used the splendid college building would have been utterly destroyed The fire originated in the basement near the furnace The college buildings are heated by steam from a boiler in the basement La Tontuller attends to the heating and Tet ault does the pumping Neither of these men was in the basement at the time having gone to dinner The furnace fire kindled a pile of cordwood near it and that in turn set the celling of the base ment on fire The study room presents a rather dilapidated appearance as all the joists are charred and the floor hacked to pieces Study will not be interrupted as the boys will pursue the rugged path to knowledge in the class room until the other is repaired It is thought $500 will place things in good order again The college is Insured toll you said one of the boys to Thb bbb Prbss reporter had a high old time there for a while you in the Township of Dearborn they hav ing possession of it as admluistrator and heir at law of Joseph Pardee Sr father of this complainant One nominal defendant is a resident of this city The other par ies are non residents It was contended by I Walker counsel for part of the defendants that this court could have no jurisdiction of this esse The act establishing the Superior Court gives it the same jurisdiction as the Circuit Court in all cases iu equity in which any complainant or defendant is a resident of the city or in which the subject matter of such suit shall be situated in said city Judge Walker insisted that the residence in the city of a party named as defendant whose in terest was really tbe same as the complain would not give the court jurisdiction and that so much of the act as gave jurisdic tion of landed property outside the city was unconstitutional and void The contrary was maintained by Levi Bishop The point is one of considerable Importance and may be finally settled in the Supreme Court Dumped in thb Drift Yesterday after noon having indulged in an pleasure with the crowd on Lafayette avenue two sleigh loads of ladies and gentlemen turned up irst street
