Mr. Holland, of 829 E. Flynn Lane, taught at Mesa High School until 1942 and after that at North and West Phoenix high schools and was a professor of social studies 21 years at Phoenix College. He was a member of the National and Arizona educations associations, the local and National Classroom Teachers Association. Bora in Raritan, 111., he came here 45 years ago from La-Harpe, 111.

Survivors include his wife, Hazel; a son, Robert of San Jose, a daughter, Virginia of San Francisco; and two brothers out of state. Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in Hansen Mortu ary, 8314 N. Seventh St. Cremation will follow.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Phoenix College in care of Wayne Edland, 1 202 W. Thomas, Phoenix 85013. Michael Sanborn GILBERT Services for Michael Larry Sanborn, 20, will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Bueler Mortuary, 14 W. Hulet, Chandler.

Burial will be in Mesa City Cemetery. Mr. Sanborn, of 243 S. Palm, died Monday at his home. Born in Mesa, he was graduated from Gilbert High School.

He was employed by Bauer's Parts Equipment store in Chandler and had been associated with his father in the cattle business. He was a member of Trinity Community Church in Chandler. Survivors Include his wife, Ruby Marie; and a daughter, Sharmin Marie Sanborn of Gilbert; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. P.

Boston, Chandler. Cecil Qevenger Cecil L. Clevenger, 53, who was employed 13 years as an electronics technician for Motorola, died Sunday in Scottsdale Memorial Hospital Mr. Clevenger, of 2310 E. Roosevelt, was born In South Haven, and came to Arizona in 1959 from Omaha, Neb.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Scottsdale and served in the Merchant Marine in World WarH. Survivors include three sons, Robert of Covina, Darryl L. and Glenn E. of Scottsdale; his mother, Mrs. Lillie Clevenger of Wichita, two brothers and a sis ter out of state.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Green Acres Mortuary, 401 N. Hayden, Scotts dale. Burial will be in Green Acres Cemetery. Tina Alani Graveside services for Tina Alani, 6, will be at 1 p.m.

Prison officials said the operation on Thomas Madsen of Provo, serving five years for selling dangerous drugs, was performed by a doctor brought In from a local hospital. As Madsen rested in the medical facility, technicians noticed him breathing He was given oxygen and taken to a Salt Lake City hospital, where be was pronounced dead on arrival. 7 i Arthur E. Burgher, 69, a prominent citrus rancher and packer in the Valley, who was on the committee which proposed the name Sun Devils for Arizona State University, died Sunday in a Los Angeles Hospital. Mr. Burgher, of 4836 E. White Gates Drive, had been In Los Angeles three weeks for treatment.

Active in civic affairs, he became a director and life member of the Phoenix Thunderbirds. Through the Thunderbirds he helped organize the Sun Angel Foundation and served as its first president. In 1960 he received ASU's Alumni Appreciation Award for his efforts in creating the foundation. Mr. Burgher was a leader in the citrus industry, in which he became involved when he first came to Arizona.

For many years he was the field director for Arizona Citrus Growers before going into the citrus packing business. In 1946 he opened the packing plant in Tempe now Carol L. McCaf fery TUCSON Private services for Carol Lois McCaffery, 31, a registered nurse, will be today in A. L. Moore Sons Mortuary, Phoenix.

Cremation will follow. Mrs. McCaffery, who was born in Chicago and came to Tucson in 1971 from Denver, was found dead Sunday at a private home in Mesa. Survivors include her husband, Dr. Michael K.

McCaffery; and a daughter, Megan Karry McCaffery, both of Tucson; and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Stritar of McHenry, 111. The family suggests contributions to the Society for the Advancement of Traditional Chinese Acupuncture, 1779 N. Alvernon Way, Tucson 85716.

Hulet, Mrs. Byers died Sunday In Oklahoma City where she had resided the past four years. Before that she lived in Chandler since 1939. She was born in Austin, Tex. Survivors include five daughters, Mrs.

At the time of his death, he was president of Tempeco Groves, a director and former president of the Phoenix Arizona Citrus Exchange, an alternate director of Sunkist Growers and a member of the Navel Orange Administrative Committee of the USDA. He also participated in the work of the Arizona Gtrus Institute and twice was elected its president. He was a former president of the Kiva Club and a member of the Phoenix Country Club. He was graduated from the University of Missouri in 1927 and was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity.
