WINTER'S MUSIC is a rich combination of a variety of musical styles, highlighted by his inventive arrangements.

He combines Bach fugues with original music by Ralph Towner, a former member of Consort and now with the group Oregon, to form "Fantasy, Fugue and Ghost Beads," "The Little Train of the Caipira" is a Villa-Lobos composition, while "Ballad in 78" is based on a Hungarian peasant song. Winter is one of a number of jazz artists who will appear, including the McCoy Tyner Sextet, Eon, a New York based trio; the Gary Burton Quartet, saxophonist David Liebman, and the Arizona State University jazz orchestra. entertainment will be provided by Jackson Browne, who will be accompanied by David Lindley. This will be an acoustic set and it is hoped the rowdies whoIast year spoiled Browne's performance with shouts of "boogie," will refrain from doing so this year. Folk finger Tom Rush will also appear this year.

Classical entertainment will be furnished by Pulitzer Prize" winning composer and pianist John LaMontaine, pianist Stewart Gordon, guitarist Michael Lorimer and the Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company of Salt Lake City.
