T0NIGHT.sJggg Exquisite Dining at KPAZ-TV's open house celebration. -The official opening of the new Channel 21 headquarters, at 36th Street and E. McDowell, was dedicated appropriately enough on Sunday. Channel the Valley's only Ultra High Frequency station, calls itself a "family station offering Christian television to the state of Arizona." taken years for the station's operators to raise the funds for the new $1 million facility.

Viewers have been accustomed to frequent hard-sell, wgek-long telethons which solicit cash and bond investments. The telethons originated as a means of keeping the station on the air, almost on a month-to-month basis. A DEGREE OF success has overtaken station officials, many of whom are area pastors, and prompted one to say enthusiastically, "Just a first step-in a long journey that will end when Jesus comes." HostTfor the televised portion of the opening was the Rev. Lindel Edmonds, who took viewers on a guided tour of the business offices, conference room, Christian Dept. you send in your and the Gap Room, designated for the production end of Channel 21's nightly live telecast spiritual program hosted by Edmonds and his wife, Kay.

"We made a pledge that we wouldn't build anything elaborate but build it just so it's comfortable," Edmonds told his viewers. IN HIS PRAYER of dedication Edmonds observed, "We pray there will be a big increase in sales." Whether or not- Channel 21 is attracting large audiences is uncertain, but it certainly attracts a lot of cash. The appeal for cash is everywhere apparent. "EVERY DOLLAR that comes from each of you fine folk is appreciated," exulted a performer, passing through the audience during a gospel group's singing. "Fill up the bowl with dollar bills as a praise of love for God!" he urged, pointing to a large transparent vase.

By the song's end he returned brandishing a fistfull of bills. "Will you look at what these nice people put into my hands!" he cried. Enthusiasm knew no bounds and there was no doubting the sincerity of the assembly of a volunteers and station officials who devote their energies to promoting the station. "If. you want to see some group or special pastor on," Mrs.

Edmonds told viewers, "then drop us a line and include a little love offering and we'll do our best to get them on." Added Rev. Edmonds: "We try to keep our Christian rates down low."
