More about Prisoner Continued from Page Ol be "a U.S. citizen. The department had discovered his mother was a natural-born citizen from Brooklyn who ld been returned to Lithuania as a child. Kudirka, his wife, mother and two children, came to the United States in November.

i Wednesday afternoon, ifudirka spoke through an interpreter to a reporter in a conference room at The Arizona Republic. A friendly, vibrant little man with a sharp and clean as an ieicle, he spoke with great animation of his feelings for America and his dislike of Soviet oppression. I "Up to date, I have found 3ie United States more beau-ful and better than anything Chad expected," he said. He has been particularly impressed, he said, by the number of automobiles, tte fine roads, the quantity and quality of goods in the sjores, and the service. "The buyer is treated with a smile," he explained.

'iThey want to help you, and when you leave through the jpor, no one searches you." His findings contrast sharply with the Russian description of America as a place inhere black people are shot and tortured, where unemployment and starvation are Widespread, and where there no justice in the courts, he said. Soon, he said, he will visit an American prison so that can compare the treatment of inmates there with the treatment he suffered in Soviet prisons. During his visit to the Republic, Kudirka was accompanied by his inter- ifreter, Vida Weyer, of the (Mins-Clare Travel Agency; Mrs. Emily Josen, president of the local chapter of the Lithuanian Community of America, and the Rev. Anthonv Valuiska, of the Lithuanian-Catholic Mission.

Kudirka was sharply dressed in a dark blue suit and fje for h's scheduled appearances Wednesday at the Blhoenix Press Club and at $. Francis Church. 4J15 N. Central. On his lapel, he wore three svmbo's: The "vytas.

small shield with a qf a horse and rider the national symbol of Lithuania 4-a small swatch of cloth with tjie wheat-yellow, forest-green and blood-red colors of the Lithuanian flag, and a small n)etal American flag. Kudirka said he was happy fpr the American people who respect their flag and the freedoms it stands for, but was disturbed by the fact that Communists who do not respect the flag are allowed to live, work and prosper here. lAnd he has little use for those who praise the Soviet Ujiion. "I would l'ke to see any-qne from the free world go to this place they say is so flee Russia and find even one bookstore o- library that has even one declaration jf human rights, he said. 1 He said it passionately.
