He said 75 workers at the Mission Mine will be laid off with 42 laid off at the Silver Bell Mine. Some salaried employes also will be affected, he said. $219.95 FIRST QUALITY PANTYHOSE in program RED ROCK The Navajo tribe has honored several Navajo foster grandparents for their work with the Navajo Foster Grandparent Program of the Office of Navajo Economic Opportunity. The Navajo elders funded and constructed a hogan for Navajo culture classes in which they will teach at the Red Rock Day School. Principal J. C. Begay said "the foster grandparents have been concerned with the teaching of Navajo culture to the children.

"All along they have want ed to tell the children old Navajo legends and stories, but they have not felt comfortable doing so in a classroom," said Begay. "So last spring the grandparents decided to build this hogan where they could talk with the children in more natural and comfortable surroundings." The hogan is a forked stick type "one of the original kind," said Begay. During the culture classes, 15 to 20 students sit on the dirt floor where they are warmed by the fire in the center of the room. The grandparents tell them about the Coyote story, Navajo clans, and Navajo legends, he said. The hogan's door faces the east where it faces the rising sun each day.
