Maryland. Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in the church. Miss Hoffarth, a senior at Alhambra High School where she was a member of the student government, was killed Sunday in an auto-pedestrian accident near Mormon Lake. She was a member of Girl Scout Explorer Post 325 and ParentYouth Organization at the church.

Survivors include her parents, Phoenix Police Lt. and Mrs. Edward Hoffarth; four brothers and two sisters; and three grandparents. Friends may call from noon to 6 p.m. and 8:30 to 10 p.m.

today in Whitney Murphy Funeral Home, 330 N. Second Ave. Rev. Harry O'Brien Rosary and scripture services for the Rev. Harry P.

O'Brien, 68, who had been a Jesuit missionary in China, will be at 7:30 p.m. today in the Church of St. Francis Xavier, 4715 N. Central. A concelebrated Mass will be at 7:30 p.m.

Wednesday in the church. Father O'Brien died Sunday in St. Joseph's Hospital. He entered the Jesuit Order in 1924, was ordained in 1937 and was headmaster at the Jesuit School in Hong Kong from 1939 to 1942 when the Japanese invasion forced him to leave. He then went to Macao and ran a small high school for refugees until 1946 when he returned to Hong Kong.

Father O'Brien, who had been associated with the Church of St. Francis here since 1949, celebrated his golden jubilee as a Jesuit in Sept. 1974. Early in his career he learned to speak Chinese while in Hong Kong from 1931 to 1934 and attended Theology School until 1938 in Louvain, Belgium. Survivors include a brother and a sister; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Smith F. Durham CAVE CREEK Smith Fitzgerald Durham, 70, who had retired from Lindy Air Products, a branch of Union Carbide, and owned and operated Ironwood Golf Course, died 1. Sunday in St. Joseph's Hospital. Mr.

Durham, whose address was Star Route 2, Box 901 Cave Creek, had lived in Arizona since 1928. Survivors include his wife, Edith Maxine; and a sister. Services will be at 3:30 p.m. today in Green Acres Scottsdale Chapel, 401 N. Hayden.

Stella Burkheiser GLENDALE Rosary for Stella E. Burkheiser, 86, will be at 8 p.m. today in Chapel of the Chimes, 7924 N. 59th Ave. Mass will be at 11 a.m.
