Gov St John at Detroit Monday 'night Butler closes at Port Huron Wednesday nieht and St John at lint Thursday night The week fol i dition and found lowing Gov Hendricks aad James Blaine come into the three full days in the State opening at Detroit on the evening of the 14th and remaining in the State the 15th 16th and 17tb speaking in cities not yet fixed upon Blaine will be received here by the coming joint Concessional and County Con vention of the party which will be held October 6 promises to be an affair of many differ ent minds The delegates already elected are di viding up into three factions strongly ad vocating three different lines of policy to be pursued The rsc laccion oeueves nominating candidates for Sheriff Prosecuting Attorney one Commissioner and Coroner and then adjourning leaving the fill ing of the ticket if it be found necessary to the County Committee Those Hint favor this procedure believe that they can get the nominees for these offices indorsed by the Democratic Convention and if not then by the Republican Convention in return for which the ticket will be filled out with the other nominees of the party so indorsing The second faction is more moderate They claim that those favoring the first proposition are asking too milch and insinuate that so much is asked purposely to defeat union with the Democrats that an alliance may be made with the Republicans particularly in the interests of Atkinson This faction wants the Convention to rame candidates for Auditor one Circuit Court Commissioner arid Coroner and then adjourn In addition they believe the party should request of the Democratic candidates for Sheriff and Prosecuting Attorney that if they are elected two Deputy Sheriffsand the Assistant Prosecuting Attorney shall be elected from the party membership If this is not accepted then this fac tion is in favor of going with the if convenient for the Republicans of and taking whatever they can get and they imagine it will be about naif the ticket The third and most conservative faction believes In nominating a full county ticket of os strong men as they can find in that party and then let the old parties do the ne gotiating for union and if they fail to negotiate then to go ahead with the ticket Some of the fol lowing men expect to ba indorsed 'for some of the positions named: Sheriff John Heffron Prosecuting
