The department is attempting to establish a herd of mule deer on about 35,000 acres of the unit. Investigation Is being made to determine feasibility of trapping more deer on the canyon's north rim. 1 1 ci P-T Ml Arizona Deaths Florence Christenson GLOBE Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Wickenburg Mortuary for Florence Christenson, 44, who died Monday in the Globe General Hospital where she had been employed as a nurse. She was the daughter of Mr.

and Mrs. Guy L. Christenson of Phoenix, and had lived in Arizona since 1924. A member of Laurel Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, Miss Christenson was graduated from St. Mary's School of Nursing in Tucson.

She is also survived by a sister, Myrtle Mae Christenson of Phoenix. Safford Kiwanis Auction Aids Fund SAFFORD, Jan. 23 (Special) The Safford Kiwanis Club will sponsor a radio auction on KGLU in support of the local March of Dimes campaign. It will start Monday and continue for a week. A "Mile-O-Dimes" event under auspices of the Junior Women's Club netted $314.36.

A Spanish dinner and bingo party by the Elks Lodge and the Emblem Club accounted for $138.85, and a golf tournament by the Mount Graham Golf Association raised $42.30. Another event planned is a metal drive by Graham County Boy Scout troops. The annual meeting of the Three Council of Boy Scouts will be at 7 p.m. Monday in the Duncan Elementary School. A Silver Beaver award will go to the outstanding member of the council.

Barry Goldwater, Phoenix city councilman, will be guest speaker. Class Opens MESA, Jan. 23 (Special) The first meeting of the Red Cross standard first aid class, sponsored by the Business and Professional Women's Club, will start at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the music cottage behind Franklin School. Cy Perkins, state engineer, said he had been advised that 600,000 pounds of structural steel needed to finish the job was en route to Yucca from a Tulsa, plant. The job has been delayed for several months. It was contracted a year ago to the Phoenix-Tempe Stone on a bid of $328,738. Perkins also said the same steel fabricating plant is expected to ship the steel needed to build the Kaiser Springs bridge on the Kingman Congress Junction cutoff about Feb. 15.
