2S2-1T01 Yardic Mann Two employes have bought Kinney Materials Handling Equipment, the Yale dealership for Arizona, New Mexico and southern Nevada. The new owners are Thayer Merrill and Porter Mackey, who bought the company from James P. Kinney of Los Angeles for an undisclosed amount. The firm reported $2 million in sales in 1972. Merrill, the company's president, joined Kinney in 1969 as vice president and general manager.

Mackey, now vice president, joined 15 years ago and was operations manager. The firm has headquarters at 522 E. Buckeye Road and a branch in Tucson, with a staff of 46 persons. One of the first steps under the new ownership, Merrill said, was to install radio communications systems in Kinney's fleet of 12 field service trucks. Eaton manufacturer of the Yale material handling equipment line, ranked Kinney tops among 13 dealers in a 10-state region for first-quarter 1973 sales.
