Mr. Merkle married Crete Musellcr in 1913 in Oklahoma, the same year he was transferred by the Forest Service to Thoreau, N.M. Mrs.

Merkle died at Phoenix in 1956. After working at several Loretta Manuel CASA GRANDE Services for Mrs. Loretta Irene Manuel, 38, will be today in the Parker Church of the Naza-rene. Burial will be in Parker Cemetery, Universal Memorial Center of Phoenix announced. Mrs.

Manuel died Friday in Phoenix Indian Health Center. She was born in Sells and lived in Casa Grande since 1955. She was graduated from Haskell Institute in Lawrence, Kan. Survivors include her husband, Frank; five children, Mercedes Silva of Los Angeles, Debra Evanston of Riverside, Corwin Rega of Glendale, Colleen Hutka and Waldine Hutka, both of Casa Grance; a brother, Phillip Manuel of Casa Grande, and a sister out of state. Ingram Athel L. Ingram, 48, a lineman 29 years for Mountain Bell, died Monday in Scottsdale Baptist Hospital. He was injured about two weeks ago in an auto accident while returning from a search for a member of the family lost on the desert near Carefree. Mr. Ingram, 9604 N.

Fifth was a Navy veteran of World War II. Born in Talihi-na, he came to Phoenix 39 years ago. Survivors include his wife, Bessie; three daughters, Mrs. Barbara Green, Mrs. Barbara Atherton, Mary Ingram, and a brother, Charles, all of Phoenix.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. served in Army for. 33 years GLENDALE Peter Paul Barron, 64, who enlisted in the Army in 1926, was transferred to the Air Corps at Hickam Field in 1939 and retired as an Air Force master sergeant in 1959, died Monday in Luke AFB Hospital, a day before his 65th birthday. Mr.

Barron, 5436 W. State, had participated in the battle of Midway Island, Solomon Island campaign, Gilbert Islands, Nauru and Mandated islands campaigns. His awards included the Asiatic-Pacific campaign medal with seven bronze stars, Air Force Longevity Award with six bronze oak leaf clusters and the Presidential Unit Citation. He had been a supply sergeant at Williams AFB before assignment at Luke AFB in 1956. After retiring he be came a Civil Service employe at Luke AFB until 1965.

He was born in Chicago. Survivors include his wife, Lucille; a son, Peter Jr. of Sunnyvale, a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Duke of Glendale; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Juanita Morrow of Santa Paula, and Mrs.

Violet Brown of Mesa; four brothers and four sisters out of state. Services will be at 3 p.m. tomorrow in Chapel of Chimes, 5852 W. Glenn Drive. Cremation will follow.

Kathryn Graves Services for Mrs. Kathryn V. Graves, 58, who died Sunday in Maryvale Hospital, will be at 1:30 p.m. today in Green Acres Glendale Chapel, 5830 W. Missouri.

Burial will be in Memory Lawn Cemetery. Mrs. Graves, 3620 W. More-land, was a member of the Methodist Church. Born in Sallisaw, she came here a year ago from Lubbock, Tex.

Survivors include ler husband, D. Boyd Graves; three children, Allen George of Oklahoma, Victor Graves and Virginia Frier, a sister, Mrs. T. W. Pilkington, Ell of Phoenix; two sisters and a brother out of state; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchilden.

John S. Luna Rosary for John Stanton Luna, 64, a truck driver 20 years for Mitch's Transfer will be at 8 p.m. tomor row in Mortensen-Kings Funeral Center, 1020 W. Washington. Mass will be said at 9 a.m.

Friday in St. Mark's Catholic Church 400 N. 30th St. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery.

Mr. Luna, 3533 E. Mc-Kinley, died in his home Sunday. Born in Superior, he came to Phoenix 39 years ago. Survivors include his wife, Claudina; five daugh- ters, Mrs.

Gloria Montoya, HOLBROOK Services for Lafe S. Hatch, 74, Navajo County Superior Court Clerk, who died Sunday in Holbrook Hospital, will be held at 10 a.m. tomorrow in the Holbrook Ward Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints. Burial will be in Snowflake Cemetery. Born in Taylor, Mr.

Hatch graduated from Snowflake Stake Academy and served with the U.S. Army in France in World War I. He moved to Holbrook in 1922. Mr. Hatch was Navajo County under-sheriff for four years and sheriff for six years.

He was Clerk of the Superior Court of Navajo County for the past 22 years, and served one term as president of the Superior Court Clerks Association. His career also included service as a deputy U.S. Marshall and Holbrook Chief of Police. He had been chairman of the Navajo County Cancer Society for 15 years and was a member of the Society's state board of directors. A past commander of American Legion Post 37 in Holbrook, he also headed the Navajo County Red Cross Association for eight years.

Mr. Hatch was a member and high priest of the LDS Church and served the Holbrook Ward and Snowflake NonaL. Hall COOLIDGE Services for Nona L. Hall, 78, one of this area's pioneers who died Monday in a Mesa nursing home, will be held at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow in Cole and Maud Mortuary Chapel here.

Burial will be in Valley Memorial Park. Mrs. Hall was born in Wellington, and came to Arizona in 1913. Following her marriage in 1916, she and her husband homesteaded in the Higley-Chandler area. They moved to the Coolidge vicinity 42 years ago.

Mrs. Hall was a past president of the Coolidge Chapter Blue Star Mothers of America and an active member of the Desert. Womans Club. Survivors include her husband, Clay H. of Coolidge; three sons, James M.

of San Jose, and Clay H. Jr. and Chester, both of Casa Grande; three daughters, Mrs. Verda Gaddis of Chandler, Mrs. Dorothy Rymerof Phoenix, and Mrs.

Esther White of Scottsdale; two sisters out of state; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Martha Campbell Mrs. Martha Frances Campbell, 55, of 5301 Questa Tierra, a resident here 23 years, died yesterday at her home. Mrs. Campbell, who was bo in Bellefourche, S.D., Survivor inning band, Dr.

Zeph Campbell; a son, Jay Curtis, both of Phoenix; a daughter, Mrs. Judith Egleston of Tucson; her mother, Mrs. Mary Miller, and a sister, Mrs. Ruth Smith, both of Phoenix; two sisters out of state and one grandchild. Funeral services will beat 1:30 p.m.

Friday at Trinity Cathedral, 114 W. Roosevelt. Cremation will follow. The family suggests contributions to the Trinity Cathedral building fund. Ida A.

Mr. Merkle had lived in the Valley since retiring as supervisor of the Sitgreaves National Forest in 1941. He and a brother joined the Forest Service in 1911 and went to the Wichita National Forest in Oklahoma which was the home of a buffalo remnant shipped from the New York Zoo in 1909. He took care fo the herd in the winter of 1911-12 when it numbered 15. During World War.

II, Mr. Merkle served as director of the Federal Aid Division of the Arizona State Game Department and later as Slate Game Warden. While in the Edward C. Schroeder CHANDLER Edward C. Schroeder, 88, a retired farmer who came here in I960 from Lincoln, died yesterday in Chandler Community Hospital.

Mr. Schroeder, 291 N. Dakota, was born in Lincoln County, Kan. Survivors include five sons, Donald F. and Gerald, both of Chandler, Harold of Beverly, Lyle of Topeka, and Cyril of Kansas City, 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Services will be at 7:30 p.m. today in Bueler Mortuary, 14 W. Hulet. Additional services and burial will be in Lincoln. The family suggests contributions to the hospital.

Frank W. Sigler Services for Frank W. Sig-ler, 82, a retired Southern Pacific employe, will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow in Mercer Mortuary, 1541 E. Thomas.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Mr. Sigler, 1210 W. Palo Verde Drive, died Monday in Medi Centers of America. Born in Omaha, he came to Phoenix five years ago from Temple City, and was a member of Bethany Bible Church and its bowling team.

Survivors include four sons, Henry and Burdette, both of Phoenix, Frank Jr. of Chicago and the Rev. Eugene Lee Sigler of Chicago Heights; a daughter, Mrs. Ward Klumb of Phoenix; 17 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Sgt.

David Covington Services for Sgt. David "Mike" Covington, 26, who was awarded the Bronze Star while serving with the Army in South Vietnam, will be at 9 a.m. tomorrow in Green Acres Mortuary, 401 N. fey-den, Scottsdale. Burial with military honors will be in Green Acres Cemetery.

Sgt. Covington, 4636 E. Orange Drive, was killed in an auto accident Saturday near where he was stationed at Ft. Hood, Tex Born in Farragut, Iowa, he came to Phoenix in 1965 from Albuquerque. He was graduated from New Mexico Military Institute at Roswell, Phoenix College and was a senior in the business college at Arizona State University when he joined the Army in 1968.

He served a year in Vietnam with the 8th Transportation Group. He was a member of the Scottsdale United Methodist Church. Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. David A.

Covington; three brothers, Daniel, Robert and John, all of Phoenix; and grandmother, Mrs. Bess Towe of Portales, N.M. The family suggests contributions to the David Covington memorial at the church. Loretta Mike Services for Mrs. Loretta Mike, 34, will be at 10 a.

m. today in the Fort McDowell Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in the Fort McDowell Cemetery. Universal Memorial Center made arrangements. Mrs.

Mike, 121 S. 11th died Saturday in Phoenix Indian Health Center. She was born at Fort McDowell. Survivors include her husband, Daniel Pacheco; two children, Gordon Mike and Glenda Mike, both of Fort McDowell; her mother, Mrs. Bessie Mike of Scottsdale and her father, Tom Mike of Fort McDowell; two sisters, Beverley Mike of Phoenix, Betty Mike of Fort McDowell, and a sister of Utah.

SAFFORD Services for Mrs. Bessie Filleman, 71, will be tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. in the United Methodist church of Safford, with burial in the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens here. Mrs. Filleman died Monday in St.

Josephs hospital in Phoenix. The wife of Howard Filleman, well-known rancher in the Eagle Creek area near Clifton, Mrs. Filleman was a native of Blue River, Ariz. She attended school there and lived there until her marriage 46 years ago. She was a member of the Greenlee County and the Arizona State Cowbelles, and took the Cowbelles' trailride every year.

She served as trail boss during this year's ride. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons Jodie of Phoenix and Harold of Clifton, one daughter, Mrs. Olive McEuen of Safford, a sister, Mrs. Mildred Jones of Mayer, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Friends may call after 5 p.m.

today and from 9 a.m. until service time at the Caldwell Funeral Home. Bernice Holden Services for Bernice Holden, 7, will be at 1 p.m. tomorrow in Sunset Chapel, 301 W. Camelback.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Bernice, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Holden, 2307 E. Willetta, was killed when she fell Sunday in a mine shaft near Humboldt.

Born in Toronto, she was brought to Phoenix three years ago and was a third grade student at Creighton Elementary School. Survivors besides the parents include a brother, Mark of i grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Holden of Hamilton, Ontario, and Mrs. Anna Damiani of Windsor, Ontario.

Ernest E. Hattrick SCOTTSDALE Ernest E. Hattrick, 79, who retired in 1956 after 40 years with Mountain Bell in Denver, diied yesterday in his home, 8406 E. Chaparral. Mr.

Hattrick was born in New Castle, England, and moved to Scottsdale in 1968 from Denver. Survivors include his wife, Bess; a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Lee of Lafayette, La. a sister of England and two grandchildren. There will be private cremation, Messinger Mortuary announced.

Lindel Martin MESA Services for Lindel Adele Martin, 48, who had been a telephone operator, will be at 10 a.m. today in Meldrum Mortuary, Macdon-ald at First. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery. Moore and Sons Mortuary of Phoenix announced. Trummic H. Keaton Trummie H. Keaton, 61, a real estate broker who came here in 1964 from Albuquerque, died yesterday in St. Joseph's Hospital.
