Imposition of sentence on Juan Molino for aggravated assault Christmas Day on Simon Mores, Goodyear, was suspended five years by Judge M. T.

Phelps. Molino admittedly struck Mores with a three-pound piece of concrete, destroying Mores' right eye. Judge Howard C. She is St- Josephs hWimam Payne pleaded not guilty to assault December 18 with a loaded gun on his wife, Carrel, 1336 West Tonto street, and his trial was set for April 7. Week-End Jail Term Is Meted A man termed by police "an ha-jitual traffic law violator" was sentenced to spend four week-ends in jail, another forfeited bond on a charge of moving a vehicle involved in an accident before police could Investigate and seven other motorists paid fines or forfeited bail totaling $60 in municipal court traffic cases yesterday. Six persons paid $21 in fines in Phoenix justice court traffic cases. Ray J. Coffman pleaded guilty to speeding January 20 at 45 miles-per-hour in a 25-mile zone on Washington street from 11th to 15th avenues and was sentenced to spend Saturday nights, Sundays and Sunday nights in the city jail for the next four weeks.

W. O. Glick, city magistrate, said Coffman had been arrested three times previously on traffic charges. Wayne Williams forfeited $10 bail by failure to appear in municipal court to answer a charge he moved an automobile involved in an accident last Friday at 13th and Pierce streets before police could investigate. Other municipal court cases: Edgar L.

Johnson, reckless driving, fined $25; Frank Moler, failure to yield the right of way at an intersection, forfeited $10; Leland B. Galoraith, passing a boulevard stop, forfeited $5, and Johnnie Yo-com, F. J. Fuller, Earl W. Johnosn.

(AP) Directors of the U. Highway 66 Association voted today to ask congressional designation of the route as the "Will Rogers Memorial Highway." The executives met here to discuss plans for a celebration at in May or June to commemorate completion of hard surfacing on the highway from Chicago to Los Angeles. Carl Hinton. Amarillo, board president, said the last unpaved gap on the route a 17-mile strip in Texas near the New Mexico line was under construction. Forgery Brings Year Sentence PRESCOTT, Jan.

24. Elmer C. Smith, who pleaded guilty to a charge of forgery, was sentenced today by Superior Judge Richard Lamson to serve from one year to 18 months in the state penitentiary at Florence. Maricopa Reports 19 Disease Cases Cases of communicable dis-, eases developing in Maricopa county during the week ended Saturday numbered 19, according to a report issued by the county pubiic health unit. The cases were: diphtheria. Phoenix one; dysentery. Buckeye one; influenza. Mesa one.

Bombing Plot Heads Sought SEATTLE. Jan. 24. AP) Search for suspected "higher-ups" in the unsuccessful attempt to dynamite the Japanese motorship Hiye Maru gained new impetus today. J.

P. Boyd, immigration solicitor, announced George Partridge, admitted participant in the bombing plot, charged three men "Dut him on the spot" when he attempted to withdraw from the plot in Vancouver, B. C. Search for backers of the plot has been under way since Partridge was arrested last Thursday. Rolphe M.

Forsyth was drowned the same day while pushing a dynamite bomb toward the Hiye Maru. Bovd said Partridge, a carpen ter's apprentice, told him he attempted to leave his Vancouver lodgings, but that three white men. one menacing him with a revolver, forced him to accompany Forsyth here by steamer. 'When I left my room in Van couver and started to sneak out the alley and avoid meeting Forsyth at the dock, three men approached me," Boyd quoted Part-, ridge. 'One of them said to me.

"You're going with Forsyth. Go up and get your suitcase or it will be too bad for Boyd said Partridge explained he wanted to withdraw when he found the bombings were to be within the 12-mile limit and thus under federal jurisdiction. He said Partridge related: 'I told Forsyth I didn't want to get mixed up with the government. Forsyth told me. several times, "You're on the spot.

You can't pull out Two Murder Trials Are Set Two men pleaded not guilty yesterday in Maricopa County Superior Court to charges of first-degree murder and heard trial dates set. Bill Walker pleaded not guilty to the slaying of Curtis Eugene Eshnger, 19 years old, Anadarko, cotton picker, on a Buckeye district ranch January 3 and his trial was set for March 16 by Judge Howard C. Speakman. Young Eslinger was shot during an argument involving several men over wages. He is survived by a 15-year-old wife.

Walker was arrested at the ranch a few hours after the slaying by Sheriff Roy Merrill and four deputies and was blamed by a coroner's jury. G. W. Siewert pleaded not guilty to the slaying December 27 on a Chandler district cotton ranch of Robert MacMann, Gold Hill, and Judge Speakman set his trial for February 10. He also was given a Meek in which to submit pleas or motions.

MacMann was slam by two blows on his head from a small clawhammer assertedly during an altercation over ownership of a bottle of wine. Siewert was ar rested by Louis Rocgers and Charles Southard, deputies of Sheriff Merrill. Term Is Meted In Liquor Case TUCSON, Jan. 24. (AP) Rear- raigned on charges of selling liquor to an Indian when it was found he ttad been sentenced illegally last Friday; John B.

Scarboro of Safford pleaded guilty in U. S. Dis trict Court today to the first of two counts in the indictment. The second count was dismissed. Judge Albert M.

Sames sentenced him to 7d days in jail and fined him $100. Scarboro had pleaded guilty last week without specifying to which or the two counts the plea applied. At that time. Judge Sames sen tenced him to 90 days. This sen tence was vacated and the new one entered.
