Indian School Road, Scottsdale. William L. Weirich, a commercial real-estate developer who was active in Scottsdale civic affairs, has died. Mr. Weirich, who was 78, died Friday.

He and his partner, the late Rollie Felt man, put together many real-estate and building developments in Scottsdale in the 1940s and 1950s. "Scottsdale was 1,800 people when I arrived in 1947," Mr. Weirich said in a 1980 interview with The Arizona Republic. "If you wanted a pair of socks, you had to send to Phoenix for them." The two developed Pima Plaza, as well as commercial property along Indian School Road west to the Arizona Canal and at Scottsdale Road and Shea Boulevard. In addition to developing real estate, Mr.

Weirich was active in developing the local Rotary Club, the Paradise Valley Country Club, the Scottsdale Chamber of Commerce and Scottsdale's baseball spring-training headquarters. In 1972, Mr. Weirich was named Carl Oscar Weber, 79, of Phoenix, a self-employed roofer, died Feb. 4, 1995. He was born in Minnesota and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Survivors include his wife, Louise daughters, Glenna Hasse, Jean Rieselman, Terry Willis, Sharon Ekstrom, Pam Petty, Judy Baker, Ann Gibson and Lorma Davidson; sons, Earl Mowrey, Arthur Mowrey, David Mowrey and Michael; brother, George; 24 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. It may get tnto drinking water through natural weathering of rock, industrial production, municipal wests disposal or manufacturing proceaeoe. This chemical hes been shown to decrease longevity, and altered blood levels of cholesterol and glucos in laboratory animals such at rats exposed to high levels during their lifetimes. EPA he set the drinking water sterv dard for antimony at 0.006 parts par million (ppm to protect against tha risk of those adverse hsalth sffscts.

Drmking wster which meets ths EPA standard is eitociated with little to none of this risk and ahould considered sal with respect to antimony. Citizens Utilities Company W' continue to inform its customers of important water quality issues such as this, and ia continuing to monitor antimony levels in the Sun City and Sun City West systsms.
