Mr. Eliasen died yesterday in a local hospital. He resided at 221 E. Carol Ave. in Sunnyslope.

Born in Iowa, he was a retired building contractor. He came to Arizona seven years ago from Cedar Falls, Iowa. Mr. Eliasen is survived by his wife, Bessie, of Sunnslope; a son, Gerald, of Cedar Falls; and a daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Notestein, of Keokuk, Iowa.

Rotary Hears Insurance Man The business and insurance futures of Arizona are very bright, Ray C.

Johnson, New York Life Insurance Company vice president, yesterday told the Phoenix Rotary Club. Johnson is a Bisbee native whose family moved to Phoenix when he was an infant. He is a graduate of Phoenix Union High School and of the University of Arizona. He began his insurance career here with New York Life. He is vice president in charge of agencies now.

"Life insurance is a big business," he, told the Rotarians. "Assets, of the life nation insurance in companies the are excess of $90 billion and increasing at the rate of $6 billion year. Americans spend $12 billion annually for insurance premiums." Johnson pointed out that most lot surance the money remains paid in for the life inmunity and that companies have large amounts invested in local communities. Welfare Job Kept Open Additional applications for the position of state commissioner of public welfare were invited yesterday by the state welfare board. Six applications were reviewed by the board last week.

But no action was announced. The board announced it will "continue to receive applications until a representative number of qualifted applicants can be considered." Qualifications include experience in administrative, executive and supervisory positions. The commissionership will become vacant Monday when the resignation of Wayne B. Warrington takes effect. Incumbents Win In Chandler Voting CHANDLER (AP)-In Chandler, where 464 of 793 registered voters cast ballots yesterday, all three incumbents seeking re-election to the town council won places on the general election ballot.

They are John W. Eddy, who received 302 votes; Bert Lewis, who polled 312; and Woodrow Lewis, who got 314. Their primary victories virtually assure them of election. The other winners and their votes are Clifford W. Floyd, 275; Robert B.
