REPUBLIC 19 BULLDOQ IS Injuries Kill Buckeye Man A 67-year-old Buckeye man died at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Memorial Hospital of multiple injuries suffered Monday night in a pickup truck accident on a county road near Perryville. Dead is James F. Hill who fell from the truck driven by his son, J. B.

Hill, 30. Robert Melton, highway patrolman, said the elder Hill fell against a door handle, then toppled from the truck which was traveling about 35 miles an hour. The accident happened southeast of Perryville. 15, 1951 Power Worker Electrocuted AN EMPLOYE of the Central Arizona Light Power Co. was electrocuted at 3:50 p.m. Friday while working with a line cr.ew at the new bridge at 16th Street and Indian School. Dead is Vernon F. Burton, 35, 1133 E.

Georgia. B. W. Robertson, 1708 V. Monte Hosa, line foreman, told Calapco officials that Burton was making a splice in a dead wire when it was pulled across a charged wire a block away.

The insulation was wet and 6,900 volts went through Burton's body, throwing him into an irrigation ditch. City firemen and ambulance attendants gave Burton artificial respiration and oxygen more than an hour. A doctor injected adrenalin into Burton's heart in an effort to save him. Survivors include his wife, Ro-maine, and two children. Sherry, 14, and Gerald, 11.

Allen Is First UCLA Chancellor LOS ANGELES. Dec. 14 (AP) Dr. Raymond D. Allen was named the first chancellor of the University of California at Los Angeles Friday.

Now president of the University of Washington, Dr. Allen was elected unanimously by the 21 regents present at the meeting. His election had been forecast Thursday in a statement by Board Chairman Edward Dickson. President Robert Gordon Sproul, of the university, was authorized to discuss salary with Dr. Allen.

Clause Debate Awarding of a year's contract for feeding county jail prisoners has been delayed by county su-i pervisors in order to determine i whether the contract could be terminated in less than a year. James O. Lecky, supervisor, said the board would ask the county attorney's office about the legality of a cancellation clause in the i contract. Bay Area Eyed For Defense Tag WASHINGTON, Dec. 14 (AP) The Defense Production Administration said Friday that a proposal to classify the entire San Francisco Bay area as a critical defense area is "under consideration." Parts of the area already have been designated as critical for the relaxation of credit controls on housing construction and the possibility of reimposing rent controls. In some cases, relaxation of credit controls on housing is the only effect of the designation.

The sheriff told the board a year ago that he could save $30,000 a year if he could handle the feeding. Lecky said he is awaiting a report from H. B.
