Pantaloons Are Latest Fashions Paris (AP) Peeping pantaloons Instead of peeping petticoats are the latest craze in Paris. Famous French designers have produced such a of them this spring that any woman who wants to can "wear the pants" at any time of the day or night. There are long ones in satin and taffeta for lounging and hostess duty; knee pants in linen and flannel for travel and town wear; afternoon dresses in chiffon and silk with calf-length pantaloons beneath their ample skirts, and above all, a great assortment of be-pantalooned evening dresses. Some of the pants are very provocative and it is only when the skirt of the dress swings out at a certain- angle that they can be seen at all. These are the ones that come with chiffon or taffeta afternoon or cocktail dresses.

CJth- ers are blatantly obvious through lace dresses which have no under- slips. It doesn't take much imagination to figure out what sort of a reception you'd get if you sauntered down to the drugstore in a pair of these Paris specials, but the fact remains that French designers, with a reputation for being copied, are showing a lot of them this spring. Balenciaga, the Spanish design- er who started the flying panel vogue, is the main exponent of ths new pantaloon styles. He shows dresses in figured green taffeta and chiffon with pantaloons of the same material, or ecru lace, beneath tiered, petal skirts. These look very discreet compared to cocktail numbers in fine cobweb black lace, transparent 3rd Generation Into Law Firm Pratt A third generation member of the Barrett legal lirm in Pratt has hung out his shingle at the family stand.

Balenciaga's boudoir pants are fine specimens, too. One pair in white satin had legs that tapered into a 3-button fastening at the ankles.

These are- worn with a magnificent full-skirted hostess gown in crimson and white striped faille. The most daring pants are shown by Je'an Patou who doesn't attempt to camouflage them with skirts.
