B6 I THE DESERT SUN I FRIDAY, AUGUST 30, 2013 FOR THE RECORD Lives remembered PAID NOTICES EP Jana M. Wacker Mrs. Frederick G. (Jana) Wacker, Jr. of Lake Bluff, Illinois and Indian Wells, California passed away peacefully at home on August 22, 2013, with her family by her side.

Born in Jersey City, New Jersey on September 11, 1929 to Frances and Joseph Comandatore, Jana was gifted from an early age with singing talent and a radiant beauty. She went from a movie contract with Columbia Pictures to a recording contract with Decca Records. She worked with such artists as Nat King Cole, Jimmy Durante, Donald O'Connor, and appeared on many live television programs. She married Frederick G. Wacker, Jr.

of Chicago, Illinois in April 1958, and celebrated 40 years of marriage before his death in June 1998. During those years she raised her family and sang gospel music across the country. She is survived by her sister, Dolores Davis, her daughter Wendy, her sons Fred G. Wacker, III (Jacqueline) and Joseph C. Wacker, and her grandchildren Tate, Cameron, and Freddie.

She passed away August 4, 2013 in La Quinta, while surrounded by her husband Terry, her lovingly raised children Mark Woelm and his wife Edna, Teresa Harvey, Laura Bolton, and Carol Woelm. She is also survived by sister Judy Waring, sons-in-law Bob Bolton and Sean Harvey and her wonderful grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her mother Blanche, father Emmett and her brothers Emmett and Roger. Marna made everyone feel special.

Everyone who knew her would say she was the most inspirational person they knew. That was certainly true. She shared her love of art with many. Mama's memorial will be held Sunday, September 15, 2013 at the El Dorado Golf Course 2400 Studebaker Rd, Long Beach, CA 90815. To view and sign this guestbook, please visit: mydesert.comobituaries John (Jack) William McFadden John (Jack) William McFadden, was born in Oxnard, California on December 15, 1925 to Robert Clyde and June McFadden.

He graduated from University High School in Los Angeles and earned an Associate of Science degree in Business at Santa Monica City College. He served honorably and proudly as a Signalman in the United States Navy. He then began a distinctive career in the Southern California Edison Company following in his father's footsteps who was Vice President at the time. Jack worked his way up the ladder and topped off his career at SCE as District Manager from Banning to Blythe. Many of his employees said that he was the best boss they ever had.

After 39 years of service, Jack was honored with several retirement celebrations including one at Morningside Country Club attended by family, friends, colleagues, and President Gerald Ford. In addition to his years of dedicated service to Edison, Jack spent his free time giving back to his community. He was President of the Palm Springs Chamber of Commerce, President of the United Way, President of the Palm Springs Cemetery District, Chairman of the Board of Directors at College of the Desert, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Coachella Valley Water District and held many more positions in the Coachella Valley. His favorite position, was as member of his beloved Palm Springs Club where he played dominoes with his best friends every day at lunch time for decades. He would come home from lunch and his daughter Lisa would ask him, "Did you win today, Daddy?" And he would often respond: "I only won by one but one's as good as a million!" Jack had many wonderful family members waiting to meet him in Heaven: His loyal and talented wife, Beverly Ann McFadden; successful and beloved son, Robert Clyde(Bob)McFadden of Carson City; beautiful and cherished granddaughter, Michelle (Shelley) Marie McFadden of San Diego, his parents, Robert Clyde and June McFadden of Placentia, brother and sister-in-law, Robert Clyde and Jane McFadden of Long Beach, and dearest mother-in-law, Elizabeth (Trixie) McGee Cross of Rancho Mirage.

Jack is survived and will be missed by his son Kurt McFadden and wife Debbie of Oceanside, daughter, Lisa of Rancho Mirage, grandson Aaron Shane McFadden of San Diego, grandson and wife, Robert Clyde and Heidi McFadden of Carson City, Nevada, granddaughters Carson and Shawnee McFadden of Carson City, granddaughter Julie McFadden Weston and Husband Matt of Boise, Idaho, great-grandchildren, Kylie, Joey, and Hendrix of Boise, and Cole and Robert (Bobby) Clyde of Carson City, nephew and niece, Michael and Kathy McFadden of Long Beach, and nieces Connie Grey and Kathryn Tensley of Arizona. Other family members who will miss Jack are his loyal and loving caregivers Natalie Zepeda of Thermal and, in the final stages of his life, Herminia Abriam of Desert Hot Springs. We cannot thank you enough for taking such good care of our Dad. Jack lost a long and challenging battle with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's Disease. He was very appreciative of the competent care he received by Dr.

Joan was born February 28, 1941 in Los Angeles, Calif, to Raymond Sr. and Eileen Flannery Perry. She leaves two sons, Thomas and Chuck Smith (Heather), and her adored grandson Aiden Smith.
