Pfingstag of Angola; Mr. Wayne Penick and Marie Bowman, of Corunna. Anna Lavina Reese, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Maier, was born in Williams county, Ohio, May 9th, 1864, and died at the home of her daughter, in Coldwater, Mich, Aug.

15, at the age of 71 years, 3 months and 6 days. On March 25th, 1886, she was united in marriage to John H. The attorney had been previously arrested on a similar charge which had not been concluded. Hearing of the new case will be had at the opening of the superior court term, Sept.

George Shumaker. Wayne Allen and family expect to leave Saturday for Sylvania, to visit a brother, Everett Allen and family. They will return Monday. Ralph Barr and son, of Burr Oak, Mr. and Mrs.

Mrs. Elsie Holsinger returned home Thursday from Seneca, where she spent the past week. Lit liuyin'i Right of Way for Corunna-Orland Road The DeKalb county commissioners have agreed to pay for the additional right of way needed to extend Road 327 north from Corunna to where it will be met by a new state road across Steuben county. The route of the proposed road is to be one mile north from Corunna, thence west a half mile, thence north to Helmer. When the right of way has been secured the road will he graded and the state department lay a surfacing.

Want (Vi, nt Opened A group of Strc. iness men called on State Highway Director Adams last week and asked why cement contracts were not awarded to the Stroh cement plant, which was shut down recently when cement for Road 27 was purchased at an Ohio plant. The delegation was informed that the cement for highways is purchased by the contractor and that the director was powerless to direct where they should buy it. Miss Betty Tuttle returned Monday from a week's visit in the Eugene Shumaker home at Pioneer, Ohio. Mr. and Mrs. C. W.

B. Ransburg have been spending their week's vacation on a motor trip through the east. Mr. and Mrs. Walfred Llndstrom left last Saturday for their new home in St.

Mrs. Eunice Lash returned home Saturday after a two weeks' visit with her son, Aubrey Lash, at Fort Wayne. Graydon Lash and wife and his mother, Eunice Lash, were at the Angola hospital, Sunday, to see the latter's daughter Mrs. Melvia Gos-horn, of near Edon, who was operated upon last Thursday for appendicitis. Mr.

and Mrs. Ernest Eyster were visiting his brother, Paul Eyster, Sunday, and on the way home they called on Melva Goshorn, who is in the Camejron Hospital for an appendicitis operation. Mr. and Mrs. Will Hopkins, of South Bend, were visiting her mother, Mrs.

Hattie Willibey, over the week-end. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Lechleidner and family moved to their new home on Monday, which they purchased of S. Barron.

Miss Frances Lechleidner has been staying with Mrs. Ella Porter while Jim Porter attended the conference as a delegate. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Kogin and Mr.

and Mrs. Dortha Kogin were at Toledo, Sunday. Orville Teegardin and Dorothea Kogin, Ivan Willibey and Virginia Moore were at Jackson, The secretary's eport was read by I Ida Hanselman, sec. pro-tem. Kaufman Reunion The twenty-third reunion of the Kaufman family was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Barron, on Sunday Aug. 25. The table was spread under the shade trees and everyone seemed to do their best to help unload them of their bountiful supply.

There were fifty-five relatives and friends gathered from Battle Creek, Fremont, Angola, Hudson and Mishawaka, also Ashley. A short program was rendered in the afternoon by Annabelle Stephenson and Wilma Hantz, after which ice cream and cake was enjoyed by all Officers for 1936 are as follows: Joe Kaufman, Robert Kaufman, vice-president; Edith Kaufman, secretary and treasurer. Joe Kaufman, of Hudson, will entertain the reunion for 1936.
