RAY. Mrs. Dr. Aylesworth had the misfortune to run a needle in her hand ASHLEY The Angola Herald FREMONT brother, llliam, of Grand Haveu 24 grandchildren ana 10 greatgrandchildren. His wife having died in 1887.

A large portion of his life was spent in Michigan, returning to Indiana in 1S80. Coming to Indiana in 1837. he experienced the toils lived here all his life except 20 years in Kansas and 11 years ago returned to our county. Feb. 14, 1S77, he was united in marriage to Miss Sarah Florence Gilbert to whom were horn two children, a daughter, Mrs.

Ben Smith, of Hamilton, and a son, Lee Bender, of Angola. He was a most devoted husband and tender and loving father and a splendid neighbor. Interment beside his dear wife in Hamilton cemetery, June IS, the anniversary of his birth, aged 64 years, 11 months and 27 days. Tinted in life and in death not long divided. Some of the out-of-town people peo was an over Sunday guest of his son, Edward.

Mrs. Reinohl and babies, Lena and Rena, are visiting in Fort Wayne this week. Dr. and Mrs. George Spencer, of Cleveland, Ohio, are guests of Mr.

and Mrs. Charles Thompson this week. Miss Georgia Scott, of Chicago, came Monday evening for a few weeks' visit with Miss Ethel Camp. Mr. and Mrs.

H. Montgomery were Auburn and Garrett visitors Saturday. The remains of Mrs. Cora Forest were brought home from Chicago last evening. Her death came after a very short illness.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Thompson and their guests, Dr. and Mrs. Spencer, enjoyed a day at Lake James.

They were delighted by a twelve-mile trip on the water. Tom Robinett and Floyd Faulkerson transacted business in Hamilton Tuesday. Mrs. Amanda Gage and Mrs. William McNutt were Pleasant Lake visitors Monday.

Mrs. L. Chapman, Wilbur and Avilla, spent Monday with Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Hoyer, near Pleasant Lake.

The Misses Bates are entertaining company from Waldron this week. Noah Bash spent Sunday at home with his mother. last week. Dr. Moore, of Fremont was called to assist the doctor in re moving the piece which had broken off ill her hand.

Sam Brunk, of Detroit, and Miss Pearl Marshall, of Eaton Rapids, were Quests of Verne Brunk and family a couple of days this week. Mrs. W. E. Ford is able to be out again after her serious illness.

Eugene Rowe and family, of Cam den, leave this week tor their new home at Detroit, after a few days visit with Corvdon Stewart and family. A number of Ray young ladies gave a picnic at Clear Lake last Tuesday in honor of Miss Helen French. Those who enioved the occasion were Bessie McTaggart. Ellen Green. The W. C. T. U. meeting held, at the home of their president, Mrs.

Dora Lewis, last Tuesday, proved to be most enjoyable. The short motor trip to her country home, the Flower Mis sion program and tne delicious re freshments made a very pleasant af ternoon. Mrs. Sarah Hotchkiss returned Sat urday from a three weeks' visit with her granddaughter. Mrs.

The Bailey orchestra has been secured and gold medal contest by the boys and girls is under preparation. The committee is also arranging for various games and contests. A grand picnic dinner will be anotner feature. All cordially invited. The R.

Doyle Moate and daughter, Geneva, of Ney. Ohio, were week guests of bis brother-in-law. Timothy Dirrim, and family. Fnclo William Dirrim has been nearly prostrated by the heat in his feeble condition, owing to the advanced ase of nearly ninety-three years. Thomas Myers and family are home from an auto trip in Ohio.

The trip cost him one hundred and twenty dollars, we are told, for repairs. Angus Cameron is home from the Indianapolis Medical College for a short vacation. A goodly number of Butler people were in attendance at the Sunday Chautauqua. Auburn and Edon were well represented. Dr.

After several years of patient suffering from a complication of dis eases, he consented to submit to an operation and on May 28, accompanied by his son, Lee, of Angola, and son-in-law, Ben Smith, of Hamilton, went to the hospital at Ann Arbor, and on June 5 submitted to an operation, from which he seemed to rally for a few days, but at last succumbed to the grip of the several diseases and went home June 15 to be with the loved wife who preceded him just a few months, March 15.

About 60 were present. Music was furnished by the Carter orchestra. Mrs. Maude Brown gave a vocal solo and encore. An autograph contest w-as held in which each one secured all the autographs of those present that they could.

It was a tie between Mrs. Ruby Hershey and Mrs. Blanche Isenhower. On drawing cuts Mrs. Isenhower won and was presented with a vase as a prize.
