Tex. lAI'i Charles Nappcr fired iwo touch- down and Dickie Ingram kicked three field goals Saturday to give Texas Tech a crucial 22-14 Southwest Conference victory over Texas Christian Tech. fighting lor survival and a bowl bid. drove 80 yards in the third period for the winning touchdown, then staved off a late rally bj the aroused Horned Frogs.

A TCU fumble at the Tech four with 5:26 left chilled the Frogs' upset hopes Hunning back Doug Mct'otcli- en shredded the TCU defense for 204 yards, as the Raiders rolled to their seventh victory and fourth SWC verdict. iAPi Cincinnati's Bearcats won their fourth straight game Saturday, crushing North Texas Suite 3010 in a Missouri Valley Conference battle. Quarterback Albert Johnson set up the first two Cincy scores. with scampers of 54 and 63 yards. Steve Cwvan and Jesse Taylor carried for the payoff on those drives, ani the Eagles never really recovered. After a Brlscoe field goal of 31 yards, the Eagles made a run at it with Ret Little gathering in a 16-yard scoring loss from Joe Milton.

That made it 14-10, but that's as close as North Texas could come. The Bearcats cracked it open in the third period with a pair of touchdowns, both by Taylor. The clinchers came afler a strong effort by the Eagle defense. They held Cincinnati on downs at the one. but Milton fumbled it away on the next play.

Taylor finally banged over from the one to make it 23-10. Billy Hunter picked off a Milton pass at the North Texas 34 in the third period and Taylor cashed in from the one. Milton hit for 3-12 yards through the air. but couldn't offset the steady Bearcats' ground game. It was homecoming and the final home game of the season for North Texas.

Cincinnati now owns a 6-2 record, while the Eagles have a 2-7 mark. Nebraska Slams Iowa St. 54-29 AMES. Iowa (AP) Fourth ranked Nebraska swept for touchdowns on its first two possessions Saturday and went on to slam Iowa State for 565 yards total offense and a 54-29 Big Eight Conference football victory. Joe Orduna had three short touchdown runs for the conference leading Cornhuskers who pushed their record to 8-0-1 overall and 5-0 in the Big fight.
