Whig Bella Barbato tripled and singled, Brittnee Lebrun registered two singles and Grace Harkey tallied a single as Elkton topped Chesapeake City 8-7 in seven innings in the District 5 Major Softball Tournament on Monday at Perryville Little League. Olivia Wheel picked up the win in relief with a 1-2-3 final frame after taking over for Barbato, who pitched the first six innings. Olivia Andrews registered an RBI single, Allaina Sliker singled twice and Daisey Pheiffer and Layla Pardel each picked up hits for Chesapeake City. North East 17, Havre de Grace 2 (4) Lauren Hudson finished a triple short of the cycle and finished with four RBIs, Emma Ritter belted a three-run home run, Katie Crouch (triple) end with three hits and two RBIs, Hannah Gordon knocked in two runs on two hits and Maddie Husfelt and Elaina Owens each collected RBI singles for North East. Havre de Grace scored twice in the fourth inning.

9-10 Baseball Chesapeake City 14, Perryville 3 (4) Charlie Mason scored three times, Brett Cochran tripled and scored twice and Grant Mackie (double), Trent Wallace, Lance Fehlman and Jake Koehler all singled for Chesapeake City. On the mound, Mason and Cochran combined to scatter just three hits and strike out 12 batters. Brandon Meinhaldt singled and scored, Gary Elville doubled and Eric Lee also reached base with a single for Perryville.
