Thompson GREENSBORO Rena Estelle Thompson of Greensboro died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2001, at Caroline Nursing Home, Denton. She was 91. Graveside services were held Sunday, Oct. 28, at Greensboro Cemetery.

Arrangements by Fleegle-Helfenbein Funeral Home, P.A., Greensboro. Shirley A. Gelletly DENTON Shirley Anne Mundhenke Gelletly, a resident of Caroline County, died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2001, at Memorial Hospital in Easton of heart failure. She was 74 years old.

Born in Rockford, on Feb. 9, 1927, Mrs. Gelletly was the daughter of Wilson Edwin Mundhenke and Anne Louise Voeks. She attended public schools in Rockford, and graduated from Rockford West High School in 1945. In 1949, she graduated from the University of Maryland with a B.A.

in Education and taught in public schools over 27 years in Cherry Hill, N.J., retiring in 1986. She was active in the teachers association and served as Recording Secretary for Camden County Education Association. Her graduate work was done at the University of Maryland and Glassboro State College in Glassboro, N.J. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi International Sorority for over 38 years in the Haddonfield, N.J., chapter. Following her retirement to the Eastern Shore, she became active in the Memorial Hospital Junior Auxiliary in Easton, Caroline Center in Ridgely, and the Denton Club in Denton.

She enjoyed working with crafts and participated in many craft shows around the county. She was active politically and served in many capacities in the Republican Party, including as chairman of the Republican Central Committee. Mrs. Gelletly is survived by her husband of 52 years, Kenneth Gelletly; three children, Sue Ellen Hamson of Marlton, N.J., Jay Gelletly of Medford, N.J., and Lee Anne Gelletly of Berwyn, and nine grandchildren. One sister, Nancy Mundhenke, is deceased.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 27, at Moore Funeral Home, Denton. Burial was at Denton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. United Methodist Church, P.O.

Box 66, Denton, Md. 21629. Roselle R.P. Curtis FEDERALSBURG Roselle Ruth Pinckens Curtis of Federalsburg died Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2001, at the University of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore.

She was 75. Born Oct. 29, 1935, in Federalsburg, she was the daughter of the late Lacy and Zilda Johnson Pinckens. She attended Lockerman High School and later married George Curtis. She worked at various processing jobs, including the John Wright Cannery, Whiteleys and Draper Foods.

She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in Federalsburg. Mrs. Curtis is survived by a daughter, Naomi Flowers of Federalsburg; four brothers, Blakely Pinckens, Philetus Pinckens and Andrew Pinckens, all of Federalsburg, and Marion Pinckens of Bridgeville, and two sisters, Cleo Beulah and Jackie Pinckens, both of Federalsburg. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 30, at Zion United Methodist Church, Federalsburg.

Burial was at Federal Hill Cemetery, Federalsburg. Arrangements by Framptom- Hawkins-Eskow Funeral Home, P.A., Federalsburg. Leonard B. Owens FEDERALSBURG Leonard Beall Owens of Federalsburg died Oct. 23, 2001.

Born Aug. 29, 1956, in Annapolis, he was the son of Nancy Mills Owens of Harwood and the late Lemon B. (Sonny) Owens Jr. He was raised in Harwood and attended Southern High School. He was a truck driver on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.

His hobbies included hunting and fishing. Mr. Owens is survived by his wife, Susan Collum Owens of Federalsburg; a daughter, Michelle Greenhawk of Hurlock; two brothers, Kevin G. Owens of Easton and his twin brother, Lemon B. Owens III of Bay Minette, and two granddaughters.

Services were held on Oct. 26 at All Hallows Episcopal Church, Edgewater. Burial was at the church cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Timothy L.

Ewing FEDERALSBURG Timothy Lee Ewing of Federalsburg died Friday, Oct. 26, 2001, in Denton, as a result of a vehicular accident. He was 23. Born Aug. 18, 1978, in Milford, he was the son of Shirley Warren Dardas of Princess Anne and Milton W.

Ewing Sr. of Federalsburg. He worked as a landscaper and was a member of Park Lane Church of God in Federalsburg. In addition to his parents, Mr. Ewing is survived by his stepmother, Sharon Ewing of Federalsburg; a close friend, Jack White of Princess Anne; a brother, Milton W.

Ewing Jr. of Federalsburg; a sister, E. Marie Ewing of Princess Anne; a stepbrother, Shawn Hughes of Federalsburg; three nieces, Samantha, Jasmine and Searra; his maternal grandmother, Doris Marie Warren of Federalsburg; paternal grandmother, Elizabeth Marie Ewing of Federalsburg; and his fiancee, Brandy Scarbrough of Ridgely. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2001, at Framptom-Hawkins-Eskow Funeral Home P.A., Federalsburg, with Rev.

Dennis Foster officiating. Burial will follow at Bloomery Cemetery, Smithville. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Caroline County Unit, P.O. Box 505, Denton, Md. 21629.

Vicki L. Scott EASTON Vicki Lynn Scott of Easton, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2001, as a result of a vehicular accident. She was 35. She was born Nov.

10, 1965, in Easton, the daughter of Andrea Jones Sommers of Federalsburg and T. Richard Scott of Phoenix. She graduated from Colonel Richardson High School Class of 1983. She worked as a secretary for Coca-Cola Co. in Easton, and also was employed by Schooners Landing in Oxford.

She was an advocate of Humane Societies and enjoyed horseback riding. She enjoyed the companionship of her beloved dog, Besides her parents, she is survived by an aunt, Eleanor Butler of Easton, a cousin, Bruce Butler of Easton and other family members. Her paternal grandparents, Tilghman W. and Mary Scott, preceded her in death. Memorial services were held on Friday, Oct.

26, 2001, in the Framptom-Hawkins-Eskow Funeral Home, P.A. 216 N. Main Federalsburg. In addition, a church memorial service was held Saturday, Oct. 28 at the Church of the Brethren in Easton, with the Rev.

Roger L. Anthony PALMYRA, Va. Roger Lee Anthony, 52, of Palmyra, Va. died Oct. 25, 2001 in Charlottesville.

He was born July 15, 1949 in Denton, the son of the late Preston and Effie Ott Antho- ny. His wife is Brenda Anthony of Palmyra, Va. Mr. Anthony was a 1967 graduate of North Caroline High School. He retired from the U.S.

Navy after 23 years of service with the rank of Chief Petty Officer. He was a member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion. Besides his wife, Brenda, Mr. Anthony is survived by one son, Roger Lee Anthony Jr.

of Palmyra; one brother, Wayne Anthony of Denton; and one sister, Shirley Daffin of Denton. He was predeceased by one brother, Preston Thomas Anthony Jr. A funeral service was held Monday, Oct. 29 at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A., 12 S. S.

Street in Denton. The interment was in the Denton Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Faith Fellowship Church, 23714 Collins Road, Preston, Md. 21655. Elizabeth Andrew EASTON Elizabeth Dukes Andrew died at Memorial Hospital in Easton on Monday, Oct.

22, 2001. She was 95. Mrs. Andrew was the widow of Ormond L. Andrew Sr.

who died in 1988. She had been a resident of Denton since 1929. She moved to William Hill Manor in Easton in 1995. Born in Kent County to William T. and Lulu Bonwill Dukes, Mrs.

Andrew was a 1928 graduate of Washington College in Chestertown. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, Denton, and was active in the Easton Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and had been a volunteer at the Hospital for several decades. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Colonial Dames XVII Century, The George Washington Society of Washington College, and the Founders Society of Washington National Cathedral. She is survived by her son, Ormond L. Andrew Jr.

of Alexandria, her niece, Margaret Anne Dukes Shockley of Virginia Beach, her nephew, Paul J. Dukes Jr. of Malvern, and several grand-nieces and nephews. A graveside service was held Thursday, Oct. 25, at Denton Cemetery, Denton.

Slacum CAMBRIDGE Betty Magrogan Slacum, of Cambridge, passed away at the Mallard Bay Care Center in Cambridge on Saturday, October 27, 2001, after a brief illness.

She was 77. She was born in Ridgely on Sept. 5, 1924, the daughter of the late Robert and Elizabeth Newton Magrogan. Mrs. Slacum attended school in Ridgely and graduated from Ridgely High School in 1941.

On May 29, 1947, she married Donald G. Slacum. She operated Beauty Shop in Cambridge from 1958 until 1986. Mrs. Slacum was a communicant of St.

Refuge of Sinner Catholic Church in Cambridge. She is survived by her husband, Donald G. Slacum; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lois S. and Leon Lane of East New Market, and Dona S. and Kenneth Roderick of Chestertown; five grandchildren, Lana Lane, Catherine Lane, Leon Lane III, Donald Roderick and Elizabeth Roderick; one brother, Robert Magrogan of Ridgely; two sisters, Charlotte Pappa and Dorothy McBride, both of Wilmington, and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by three sisters, Margaret Dulin, Ruth Roe and Jean Woodward. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Refuge of Sinners in Cambridge Tuesday, Oct. 30. A Christian Wake Service was held Monday, Oct.

29, at the Thomas Funeral Home in Cambridge. Burial was at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery near Hurlock. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Refuge of Sinners, P.O. Box 218, Cambridge, Md.
