Thirty guests are invited to the event for which the future groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs.

Sweet Adelines have open house An afternoon of barbershop music will be featured at an open house May 2 given by the Smoky Valley Chapter of Sweet Adelines. The public is invited to the event, which will be from 2-4 p.m. at the United Church of the Cross, 1600 Rush, to join in celebrating the chapter's 25th anniversary.

Mrs. Donna Sherwood, chapter member, says this event is being given "to show our appreciation for all the support we've gotten from people during the past 25 years." Musical performances will be presented by women from Lyons, Great Bend and Abilene. A local men's quartet, "The Spare Parts," and women from the chapter also will perform. Refreshments will be served. Activities planned by the chapter include a dinner theater June 19 at Heritage Hall entitled, "Barbershop by Candlelight." And the group's annual Parade of Harmony will be October 2 at Central High School.

Boss of the Year named by ABWA Anilas Chapter of the American Business Women's Association has chosen Jim Durham, 1809 Hillcrest Lane, its 1982 Boss of the Year. Durham is administrative partner of Woods and Durham, Chartered, a Certified Public Accounting firm. A graduate of the University of Oklahoma, he has been in private practice since 1964. He was nominated by ABWA member Cathy Sklenicka, computer operator for the firm. Business experience and accomplishments and encouragement of employee advancement are factors weighed in selecting the Boss of the Year.
