Page 4. Daily Sitka Sentinel. Sitka, Alaska, Thursday, November 1980 ANN LANDERS Ann Landers: Dear Ann Landers: Please tell me how to "disengage" from my stepchildren without losing my husband. "Nick" and I have been married eight months. His sons have asked him to cosign for cars and a home, and he did it without asking me.

(I'm sure "Dad" will end up paying off. These sons are 26 and 28 and have no credit.) My stepdaughter asked if she could borrow my food pulverizer last week. She said she needed it "just for a day." This morning I called and asked her to return it. She said, "I dropped it and it broke. It's not worth fixing.

Gee, I'm sorry." This is the third weekend in a row we have had to baby-sit for our grandchildren. "Nick" says it's part of being good grandparents, but he plays golf Saturday and Sunday and comes home at 4 p.m. I'm the one who is stuck. Please give me some advice. I feel- Used In Fullerton Dear Used: His or her children are the principal cause for the failure of second marriages.

You need a lot more help than I can give you. Go see the clergyman who married you and Nick. Ask if you can bring your husband in for a visit. Get this problem thrashed out and establish some new guidelines, once and for all. If you don't do it now you are doomed to a life of servitude.

Sitka Yesterday The following excerpts were taken from old newspapers recorded on microfilm at Kettleson Memorial Library: November, 1934 The Arrowhead reports: "Eiler Han- son, Dr. Hodgins, Ted Kettleson and Len Peterson returned recently from a hunting trip up by Cape Spencer, with a somewhat unusual bag. Besides 3 deer and approximately 100 ducks, the foursome boasted 3 wild goats. The trip was taken aboard the Elsie, with skipper Louis Tuisseero aboard. November, 1885 The Alaskan reports: "A Good Move-The Fire Brigade, through Capt.

Wilde's motion and execution, has established a reading room at the engine house, where hereafter will be found all the latest newspapers and periodicals. The room is open every day, and as we understand it, all are welcome to call and read to their heart's content." Church to Show Film The Assembly of God Church has invited the public to view the film "Assignment Life." The film will be shown 8 p.m. Friday at the church, the corner, of Kimsham and Peterson Streets. The Christian film deals with the abortion controversy. It has been endorsed by Dr.

Bill Bright, founder and president of Campus Crusade for Christ; C. Everett Koop, M.D., a pediatric surgeon; Dr. James Dobson, an author, and Jack Hayford, president of Life Bible College. A nursery will be provided at the church for children age 2 and under. A free will offering will be taken to help pay costs of the film.
