Bryan D. Paul Bryan D. Paul, 42, of Natchitoches, entered eternal rest on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Hospital, Alexandria. Arrangements have been entrusted to Gallagher Funeral Home and Crematory, Ball.

Mary Pembric Mary Pembric, 84, of Alexandria, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2015 at her residence. Arrangements under the direction of Good Shepherd Funeral Home, Alexandria. Going Home service for Mary Louise Franklin will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 11, 2015 in the G.A. Mangun Center of Alexandria with Reverend Anthony Mangun and Reverend Dennis Brown officiating. Committal services will follow in the New Hope Cemetery in Verda under the guidance of White Oaks Funeral Home, Alexandria.

Mary, 82, of Alexandria, entered eternal rest on Thursday, April 9, 2015 in Alexandria. She was born April 10, 1932 in Rockport, Texas. Upon completing high school, Mary went on to further her education in accounting at the business college. She was a faithful member of the Pentecostals of Alexandria and dedicated her life to serving the Lord. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and was loved by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Beda Delilah Coleman; her husband, Freeman Franklin; one son, Freeman Wayne Franklin; two sisters, Patricia Dean Boykin and Francis LaVergne Boykin; step father, G.F. Coleman; two step brothers, Jack Coleman, Jr. and Glen Ralph Coleman. Those left behind to cherish her memory are: three daughters, Cynthia Ann Beeson and husband Gary of Houma, LA, Pamela Faye Franklin of Pineville, LA, and Beda Renee Hendricks of Pineville, LA; 13 grandchildren, Jason Beeson, Jennifer Noble, Kimberly Beeson, Datha Stewart, Melynn Smith, Kristy Deglandon, Mandy Hendricks, Casey Hendricks, Justin Franklin, Megan Hendricks, Brittany Beeson, Callie Hendricks, Jeremy Beeson and 16 great grandchildren; an honorary daughter, Karen Thompson of Pineville, LA; two step brothers, G. C.

Coleman and wife Donna of Cleveland, TN and Donald Wayne Coleman and wife Mary Alice of Dallas, TX; two step sisters, Sylvia Williamson of Shreveport, LA and Margie Bowman of Arcadia, LA; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of extended family and friends. Pallbearers to serve will be Casey Hendricks, Courtney Smith, Greg Franklin, Brandon Melder, Geoffrey Daniel, and Derek Boothe. Visitation will begin today, April 11, 2015 from 11 a.m. until service time at 2 p.m. in the center.

on Sunday, April 12, 2015 in Calcasieu Baptist Church, with Reverends Bert Riddle and Vance Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Union Hill Cemetery under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale. Mrs. Jessie Ashmore Stokes was born at home in Union Hill, LA on May 27, 1916. Mrs.

Stokes entered eternal rest on April 9, 2015 at the age of 98, at Matthews Memorial Health Care Center in Alexandria, LA. She loved gardening, sewing, quilting and cooking. She was a member of Calcasieu Baptist Church. Mrs. Jessie deeply loved her church and had a deep faith in her Lord.

She was a 1934 graduate of Glenmora High School graduating with honors. She also went on to attend Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be missed by all those she loved and knew. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ophelia Johnson Ashmore and Joshua David Ashmore; her husband, Frank Earle Stokes and her grandson, Frank Earle Stokes.

Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory are her two sons, Clayton Jerry Stokes and his wife Carolyn of Union Hill, H. Frank Stokes and his wife Julie of Guy, TX; five grandchildren, David Stokes and his wife Patricia, Bruce Stokes and his wife Norma, Priscilla Voisinet and her husband Bob, Julie Ann Jerden and her husband Shelby, Jeff Grant and his wife Carla; eleven great grandchildren, Wendy Ripley and her husband Josh, Amanda Stokes, Joshua Stokes, Shelly Garcia and her husband Juno, Andrea Stokes, Robbie Voisinet, Issac Voisinet, Christopher Jerden, Simon Jerden, Alexander Jerden, Logan Gentry; two great great grandchildren, Norah ea Ripley and Averie Isabella Garcia. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are, Greg Johnson, William Earl Hilton, Gerald Johnson, Gerald Ray, Greg Clark and Mark Johnson. Honorary pallbearers are, Kenny Reed Cloud, Vernon Atkinson, Dewayne Eaves, Bill Gordy, R.V. Johnson and James Johnson.

The family wishes to thank all the nurses, and staff at Matthews Memorial Health Care Center and Guardian Hospice in Alexandria, LA for their loving care and concern during this time. Friends may call at Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale; on Saturday, April 11, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Visitation will reopen at Calcasieu Baptist Church on Sunday, April 12, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. and continue until the time of service.

Doug, 80, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at 5:40 p.m. at Grace Home in Alexandria with his family by his side. Doug was born in Winnfield to the late Clyde E. Sherwood and Annie Mae Billings Sherwood on November 5, 1934. He was the middle child of three.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Billie Ruth Still Sherwood; son, Kevin Sherwood (Chris Kirby) of Los Angeles, California; daughter, Keli Sherwood Fredieu (Larry) of Montgomery; grandson, Dawson Howie; sisters, Lamaye Sherwood Rice of Winnfield and Ann Sherwood Heath of Alexandria; great aunt, Ev elyn Billings of Winnfield; and niece Gennifer Guin Pearson (Bill) of Alexandria along with many more extended family members. Doug and Billie, whom he married in 1957, were longtime residents of Pineville and long-term members of First Baptist Church, Pineville, where Doug served as director of the seniors Sunday School Department for many years. Later in life, they moved their membership to New Life Community Church where they were founding members. Doug was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, nephew and friend to all he met. He loved to fish, do woodworking and working in the yard with Billie.

He was a diehard fan of LSU Football and New York Yankees Baseball. He will be remembered as good-natured soul with a great sense of humor and a beautiful smile. Doug is a graduate Winnfield Senior High School and of Louisiana College, where he earned a degree in Business Administration. After graduation, he served his country in the U.S. army where he was stationed in Anchorage, Alaska.

He worked in accounting and finance for the Rapides Parish School Board from 1959 1995, retiring as Director of Finance. While at the School Board, he served on the Louisiana Association of School Business Officials of which he is past president. He also worked for many years as an accountant for the Rapides Parish School Employees Credit Union, eventually serving on their Board of Trustees. Doug also served as a part of the founding board of England Authority, helping guide the plans for the uses of England Air Force Base after closure in the 1992, leading to the formation of what is now England Air Park and Alexandria International Airport. Doug donated his body to science so that more can be learned about Disease and Multiple System Atrophy of which he suffered.

The family asks that any memorial gifts be directed to either New Life Community Church of Cenla (4210 Coliseum Blvd, Alexandria, LA 71303) or to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Research. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Journey Hospice, especially Joanne and Kasey, and to the staff of Grace Home at CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Hospital.
