4A THE OWN ALK Death Notices In Memoriams A memorial service celebrating the life of Lewis Milem will be held Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 2PM in the Live Oak Community Church, 8 Heyman Lane, Alexandria, LA with old friend, Rev. Bill Housley officiating. Eddie, age 58, was born October 3, 1956 and passed away March 5, 2015 at Rapides Regional Medical Center. He was a graduate of Northwestern State University, an accomplished musician, avid hunter and fisherman, loving husband, father and friend who touched many people in his lifetime. He was a multi trades inspector for the City of Alexandria.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Lewis E. Milem, Sr. and Alma Vealy Milem; and daughter, Keila Milem. He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Melissa Tarver Milem; brother, David Milem (Elizabeth) of Austin, TX; son, Lewis E.

Interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Military Honors, in Ball, Louisiana under the direction of Rush Funeral Home in Pineville, Louisiana.

Mr. Baum, 90, of Pineville, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at the V.A. Medical Center, Pineville. Dewey was an U.S. Army Veteran serving in combat under General Patton during WWII in the European Theater.

On July 6, 1944 he was wounded in combat in France. He was later awarded the Purple Heart Medal and the Bronze Battle Star. Dewey was a lifetime member of the D.A.V. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Lula Baum; one son, Donald Baum. Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Charles W.

Baum and wife Sandra of Pineville; two daughters, Cathryn Grant and husband Bobby of Pineville, Linda Irby and husband Don of Alexandria; one brother, Travis Baum and wife Velva of Pineville; ten grandchildren; eleven great-great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. Dewey Albert Baum Funeral services for Phillip Cooper Sandon will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 20, 2015, in The Chapel of Hixson Brothers, Pineville, with Richard Gasser and Gilbert Reese officiating. Phillip Cooper Sandon, 5 months, of Denham Springs, passed from this life on Sunday, March 15, 2015, at his residence. Although he was not here but a short time he will be greatly missed and never forgotten. August 18, 1942 March 12, 2015 Johanna Engelsman McDonald, 72, a longtime resident of Huntsville, passed away on March 12, 2015 after a brief illness. Jo was born in Baton Rouge and raised in Alexandria, Louisiana, the daughter of John C. and Una Engelsman. As a child, Jo began to cultivate a love of reading that endured throughout her life. She was an honor graduate of Bolton High School in 1960.

Always a top student, she graduated from Louisiana Tech University in 1963 with a degree in mathematics. While at college, Jo met her future husband, Dr. Clyde McDonald. They were married in 1963 and lived in New Orleans where Jo worked as a middle school math teacher to support the family. They soon moved around the country with the Army, first to Indiana and later to Texas.

The young family, now with two children, moved to Huntsville in 1975 to start a medical practice. Jo worked as a math tutor and managed the finances for the medical practice and later, an oil and convenience store business. She volunteered many hours helping at her school, Monte Sano Elementary. Jo enjoyed speaking with people all over the world using Ham radio, and became one of the first women in Alabama to earn the most advanced level of Ham radio license. Later in life, Jo touched the lives of many people through her role as a counselor with the Beginning Experience support group.

A world traveler, she especially enjoyed an extended stay in France, where she honed her watercolor painting skills. Her artwork has been shown in several galleries around Huntsville. She worked tirelessly as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and the Friends of the Library. Jo found a new love in her life when she met Glenn Nettleton. They shared an interest in computers, and Jo soon joined him as a technology instructor with the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UAH.

She also enjoyed lively discussions with her Sunday school class at Valley United Methodist Church. Jo always liked meeting and talking with new people and was a friend to everyone she met. She loved to entertain and enjoyed an active social life, frequently hosting gatherings of friends at her home on Monte Sano. She found much joy in supporting and actively participating in each of her and lives. Jo is survived by her children Kelly McDonald of Huntsville and Tom McDonald of Austin; daughter- in-law, Emily McDonald; grandchildren, Sage and Lexie Jordan, Lydia, Joanna, and Audrey McDonald; brother, the Honorable John D.

Engelsman of Baton Rouge; nephews, Greg and Alex Engelsman; and her dear friend Glenn Nettleton. On Saturday, March 21, a visitation will be held at 1 pm at Valley United Methodist Church in Huntsville, AL, immediately followed by a memorial service at 2 pm. The service will be conducted by Rev. Sherry Birney and Rev. Tim Tatum.

January 21, March 17, 2015 John Abrusley, Jr, of Fulshear, Texas entered into eternal peace on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 in Houston, Texas with his loving wife, Lavanda by his side.

Born January 21, 1950 in Oakdale, Louisiana, after completing high school, Mr Abrusley graduated from Louisiana Tech University and later joined his father at Dept Store in Oakdale, Louisiana. In 1998, he and Lavanda moved to Fulshear, Texas to start a new chapter in their lives, and he eventually founded Lost Circulation Management which continues on today. Mr. Abrusley was an avid hunter, golfer, and loved to RV around the country with Lavanda. He was a devoted family man, who adored and cherished time spent with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Abrusley, Sr. and nephew Robert David Those left to mourn his passing are his loving wife of fifty years, Lavanda Abrusley; his three children, Chris Abrusley, and his wife, Toni, Robbie Abrusley, and his wife, Kasey, Stephanie Blyth, and her husband Matt; his mother, Nelva Abrusley; his brother, Bobby Abrusley, and wife, Nancy; his sister, Susan Richeson, and her husband, Mark; Eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild: Missy, Joseph, Nina, Brienne, William, Nick, Alex, Jacob, Brady, Charlie, Madi and Jack. Sweat, age 55, of Tioga, Louisiana, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at his residence in Pineville, Louisiana. Randy was a member of Wilda Baptist Church, Cotile. He was an avid fisherman and a huge Nascar and sports fan. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids. Randy worked for many years on the road as an outside salesperson selling millwork.

He never met a stranger and always had a story with a sense of humor. He was a very kind person, loved animals, always practicing catch and release. He is preceded in death by his father, James William Sweat. He is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Janet Sweat of Tioga; his mother, Carmen Sweat of Alexandria; one son, James Sweat and wife Courtney of Alexandria; two brothers, Steven Earl Sweat of Alexandria and Charles Sweat of Alexandria; three grandchildren, Kesslyn Sweat, Reagan Sweat and Payton Sweat.
