At the close of the evening there will be a luncheon, at which Mr. Jacobsen will act as master of ceremonies.

Evelyn Annas gave an interesting talk on fall fashions, and Mrs. Nettie Thomson presented a report on the Rotana national board meeting which she attended in Butte. At the close of the business session, a social hour was enjoyed. The next meeting of the club is scheduled for Tuesday, Nor. 4.

MIRIAM SENIOR AUXILIARY WILL MEET THURSDAY WITH MRS. GOODALL The senior auxiliary of Miriam chapter No. 1, Order of the Eastern Star, will meet Thursday afternoon, Oct. 24, at 2:30 o'clock, at the home of Mrs. Archie J.

A. were hostesses to Sons of the American Revolution and their wives, and guests of D.A.R. members, at a meeting held Monday evening, Oct.

J. G. Reitsch, past regent, presided at the business session which opened with the ritual service under the direction of Mrs. Laura Holker. Routine business matters were taken up and reports of committee chairmen given.

Mrs. Reitsch opened the program with a discussion of the D. A. R. 'Golden Jubilee, tracing its development from its inception, Oct.

11, 1890, down to the present time, giving a resume of its aims and accomplishments. She outlined various Golden Jubilee projects, of which that on reforestation has been particularly successful. Miss Lucia Stone spoke on "Founders of the D. A. and bi ought out many interesting facts concerning early pioneers of the oiganization.

Lives of the four founders, of whom Miss Eugenia Washington was the leader, were discussed in detail. Of special interest was Miss Stone's description of the carillon in Valley Forge Memorial, which is to have bells lep- resenting each of the 48 states. Mrs. J. E.

Erickson, program rhaiiman, introduced members of the Sons of the American Revolution, and biief talks i given by C. M. Roos, J. Scott Harrison and M. B.

Wilson. The program closed with group singing of "God Bless America." The meeting then adjourned to the recreation room, where the Rev. C. E. Whittier entertained with a showing of dolored films of picturesque local scenery, and scenes of unusual beauty from the Canadian Rockies, Glacier and Yellowstone parks, the Tetons and California beaches.

Several slides were shown of the elusive Rocky Mountain goats filmed by Mr. Whittier on one of his trips. Coffee, tea and delicious sandwiches and cakes were served by the hostesses from a table decorated with autumn leaves and berries. Thos who enjoyed tha delightful evening were the Rev. and Mrs.

E. Towle. KUX-UP-KLUB ENTERTAINED BY MRS. HAROLD JONES THURSDAY EVENING Mrs. Harold Jones and Miss Amy Gorsich entertained members of the Kut-Up-Klub at Mrs.

Jones' home, 727 Twelfth avenue, last Thursday evening. Dinner was served at 7:30 o'clock at a table covered with a handsome lace cloth and centered with colorful autumn leaves arranged upon a mirror, which was flanked by silver tapers in gold candelabra. Covers were laid for 14 members and guests including Mrs. Francis Rigler, Mrs. Frank Lassar, Mrs.

Rudolph Andolsek, Mrs. Charles Smith, Mrs. Larry Wegman, Mrs. Ralph Steffenson, Mrs. Jack Kinsey, Mrs.

Tony Cvar, Mrs. Matthew Staringer, Mrs. Louis Perhay, Mrs. Frank Babcock, Miss Albena Cvar and the hostesses. The evening was spent with sewing and whist was played with prizes going to Mrs.

Lassar, Mrs. Staringer and Mrs. Smith. The table prize was awarded to Mrs. Andolsek.

MISCELLANEOUS SHOWER HONORS BRIDE-ELECT THURSDAY EVENING In compliment to Miss Adelle DeMars, whose engagement to Clarence Anders of Lewistown has been announced, Mrs. Don Thompson entertained Thursday evening at a miscellaneous shower at her home in Yoik. Games and contests were enjoyed during the evening with prizes going to Mrs. Perry McGaffick and Mrs. Henry Lay.

Luncheon was served at small tables appointed in a color note of yellow and rose. Miss Deniars received many lovely gifts from her friends who were present, including Mrs. Edward Weiss, Mrs. John Frank, Mis. James Coolie, Mrs.

Henry Lay, Mis. Perry McGaffick, Mrs. Tom Spurzem, Mrs. Smigaj, Mrs. Archie Craig, Miss Katherine McGaffick, Miss Katherine James DeMars and the hostess.

FREIGHTWAYS CLUB MEETS THURSDAY AFTERNOON Mis. Dick Brannon and Mis. Ray Cote entertained members of the Freightways club Thursday afternoon at Mrs. Brannon's home. Pinochle and other games weie played, and prizes for high scoies went to Mrs.

Elmo Jacks, Mrs. Jerry Hawortb. and Mrs. Art Donovan. Later in the afternoon a tempting luncheon was served by the hostesses.

Those present were Mrs. Joe Heggan, Mrs. Bill Fisher, Mrs. Wilbur Fryatt, Mrs. Bill Hathaway, Mrs.

Emmett Rogers, Mis. Bill Miller, Mrs. Elmo Jacks, Mrs Art Donovan and Mrs. Jerry Haworth. Mrs.

Walter Woods of Great Falls was the guest of honor for tbe afternoon. HELENA REBEKAH LODGES HONOR STATE OFFICER AND PAST PRESIDENTS Marking the official visit of Mis. Ruth Ann Dart of Dillon, vice president of the Rebekah assembly, I.O.O.F., of Montana, members of Naomi lodge No. 1 and Vera lodge No. 12 entertained Thursday evening, Oct.

17, at a 6:30 o'clock dinner at Eddy's Drive-Inn. Corsages of pink roses marked places for the guest of honor and for other honored guests, including Mrs. Thomas Sillers, Mrs. Everett Beck, Mrs. William F.

Hirsch and Mrs. Jennie Sullivan, past presidents of the Rebekah assembly, and all the elective officers of both Helena lodges. The regular chapter meeting took place at 8 o'clock at the I.O.O.F. Temple, with all members of the lodges attending. During the meeting the Theta Rho Girls' club exemplified degree work.

Beautiful arrangements of garden flowers were used to decorate the hall. At the close of the session, Mrs. Dart gave an instructive address on the growth of the order aud methods of improvement and outlined the schedule of work for the jear. Her subject for the evening was entitled "Tests of Character." Later the members and guests adjourned to the dining room which was decorated with Hallowe'en cats and favors. Refreshments were served at the officers' table, decorated with a centerpiece of fail blossoms and leaves, and at smaller tables, set with miniature scarecrows and pumpkins Scheduled meetings for the two lodges were announced as follows- Vera lodge No.

12, Thursday, Oct. 24, and Naomi lodge No. 1, Thursday, Nov. 7. CAPACITY CROWD ATTENDS CARD PARTY GIVEN BY WIVES OF ELKS SOCIETY CALENDAR One of the most oustandiug social events of the week took place Tuesday evening in the Elks lodge when wives and daughters of Elk members sponsored a public card party.

A capacity crowd attended the enjoyable event, which was in charge of Mrs. Myles Thomas, general chairman. An entertaining program and refreshments featured the affair. The program included selections on the new solovax by Wes Mullen, accordion numbers by Miss Donna Polich; a vocal solo by Miss Jean Milch, accompanied by Mrs. J.

Miller Smith; mandolin and vocal selections by Tommy Ferguson and a tap dance by Bob and Jack Dick- charge of the over. Committees in party were: VISITORS ARRIVE FROM MINNEAPOLIS Mr. and Mrs. Charles N. Fluhr of Minneapolis will arrive in Helena today for a -tisit with Mr.

Fluhr's mother, Mrs. Augusta Fluhr, who has been confined at St. Peter's hospital with a fractured hip for the past several weeks. Mr. Fluhr is a former Helena resident.

LITERARY DEPARTMENT TO MEET TOMORROW AT Y.W.C.A. Mrs. T. A. Mills will lead group discussion on the subject, "On Board Ship and Island Republics," at the first fall meeting of the literary department of the Helena Woman's club tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Y.W.C.A.

The group meets the third Monday of each month and this year will follow a schedule of discussions on the "Good Neighbor Tour to the South American Republics." ARTS AND CRAFTS GROUP TO MEET NEXT FRIDAY The arts and ciafts department of the Helena Woman's club will meet next Friday afternoon for the fiist lime this fall. The meeting will begin at 2 3 0 o'clock at the Y.W.C.A and discussion will center around flowers and gardening. Mrs. Dana E. Kelly will speak on "Art in the Garden;" Mrs G.

H. Carsley on "Foicing Bulbs for Winter 1 and Mrs. W. K. Illg- gms, of Butte, chairman of gardening of the Montana Federation of Woman's clubs, will be a guest speaker, talking on "Cut Flower Airangemenls." Hostesses for the day will be Mis.
