I I I I Obituaries Joseph W. Reinsel, Local Mortician For 38 Years Dies OIL CITY Joseph W. Rein72, prominent resident of Bissell Avenue, and owner and operator of the Joseph W. Reinsel Funeral Home here for the past 38 years, died at 5:30 p.m. Saturday in his home following an extended illness.

Mr. Reinsel was the oldest member of the Venango County Funeral Directors Association. He also was a member of the Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association and the National Funeral Directors Association. He was born in Red Bank Township, Clarion County, April 23, 1893, a son of Daniel and Priscilla Cummins Reinsel. He was married to the former Sara Davis Aug.

1, 1917, in Farrell. She survives. Mr. Reinsel was a member of St. Joseph's Church and St.

Joseph's Holy Name Society. He also was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of and a member of the Elks and Eagles lodges in Oil City. He had been associated in the funeral business for more than 50 years and before that worked for 13 years in the blast furnace department of the Carnegie Steel Company in Farrell. In addition to his widow, be is survived by three daughters, Mrs. John (Janet) Jectus of Oil City, Margaret J.

and Patricia at home; five sons, Joseph J. Edward and Daniel A. Reinsel of Oil City, John W. Reinsel of Franklin RD 3 Mark D. Carli, 35 Dies in Virginia; Services Set Here OIL CITY Word has been received here of the death of Mark D.

Carll, 35, of Fredericksburg, who died there Saturday. Mr. Carll, a former resident of the Oil City area, was employed as a salesman for the SmithCorona Business Machine Company. He was born April 1, 1930, at Seneca, a son of James Lawrence and Ora Loudon Carll. Mr.

Carll was a veteran of the Korean War. He is survived by five children, Mark D. Timothy, Paul, Linda and Vicki, all of Fredericksburg, his mother, Mrs. Ora Carll of Seneca; three brothers, Paul Carll of Cleveland, Ohio, James Carll of Sarasota, and Dale Carll of North East, and a sister, Mrs. John (Arminta) Baker of Oil City.

Family committal services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Brandon Cemetery, in charge of the Charles A. Morrison Funeral Home. The Rev. Merle Wonderling, pastor of the Seneca Methodist Church, will officiate.

Immediately following the committal services, friends are invited to attend a memorial service in the Seneca Methodist Church at 1:30 p.m., in charge of the pastor, Rev. Wonderling. Mrs. J. Barras Dies in Hospital OIL CITY--Mrs.

Jennie A. Barras, 81, of 620 North Street, widow of Joseph Barras, died at 9:45 p. m. Friday in the Oil City Hospital shortly after she was admitted. She was born April 14, 1884, in Ludlow, a daughter of John and Christine Anderson, and had resided here most of her life.

Her husband died April 30, 1951. She is survived by one daugh-1907, ter, Mrs. Charles (Ruth) Keltz of Mt. Lebanon; a sister, Mrs. Ida Bomgren of Baraga, and three grandchildren.

Friends may call any time in the Osenider Funeral Home where funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Tuesday. The Rev. F.

LeRoy Sarver, pastor of the Good Hope Lutheran Church, will officiate. Interment will be in the Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens. EDWARD NELSON OIL CITY Edward Nelson, former Oil City resident and former employe of the Pennsylvania Electric Company here, died Saturday in St. Petersburg, Fla. Removal will be made to the Osenider Funeral Home here.

Stephen's Church for Alonzo F. Rodibaugh, 83, of Van, Star Route, who died at 5:30 a. m. Friday in the Oil City Hospital. He was a retired employe of the Pennsylvania Railroad.

Stephen's Church for Mrs. Anna Oliver, 81, a member of a prominent family here, who died at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday in the family residence, 504 E. Fourth Street. The Very Rev.

Monsignor William R. Hastings, pastor of the parish was the celebrant of the mass. Interment was made in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers, all grandsons of Mrs. Oliver, were: Charles Prestipino, Samuel Oliver David Oliver, Thomas Oliver, Andrew Keyes and Christopher Wolbert.

m. Saturday in his home. Born Sept. 18, 1897, at Punxsutawney, he was the son of Harry and Louise Stromeyer Walker. Mr.

Walker came to Oil City from Clarion RD 2 in 1952 and has resided here since. Prior to his retirement in September, 1962, he was employed as a custodian at South Side Junior High School. He was married Jan. 27, 1918, to the former Leona Fesenmyer, who survives. Mr.

Walker was a member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 101 at Clarion. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Edward Dean of Youngstown, Ohio, and Paul R. of Knox; five daughters, Mrs. Earl (Louise) Craft of Franklin, Mrs.

Mary Lucille Moore of Erie, Mrs. Jay (Marguerite) Wolff of Clarion RD 2, Mrs. Gerald (Betty) McCleary of Parkersburg, W. and Mrs. Gary (Evelyn) Rapp of Oil 1 City; one brother, Jacob of Hyattsville, and 29 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Friends may call anytime at the Hutchinson and Morton Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.

The Rev. Sherman Beers, pastor of the Wesleyan Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will be in the Clarion Cemetery. Louis C. Coast, 76, Succumbs OIL CITY Louis C.

Coast, 76, of 2 Clifford Street, a retired employe of the Pennzoil pany, died at 1:20 p. m. Friday in the Garmong Convalescent Home. He was born at Clintonville, Oct. 10, 1889, son of George and Mary Layton Coast, and had resided in Oil City most of his life.

He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Mr. Coast retired 11 years ago from Pennzoil where he worked in the filter house. A veteran of World War 1, he served as a private in Co. 12th Infantry.

Deyoe, prominent resident of 932 W. First Street, Oil City, and a retired florist, was installed today as grand master of the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Pennsylvania. The ancient installation ceremony was held at the annual communication of the Grand Lodge in Masonic Temple, Philadelphia. As grand master of Masons in Pennsylvania, Mr. Deyoe will head approximately 254,000 Pennsylvania Masons in 611 Masonic Lodges throughout the state.

He succeeds Earl F. Herold, of Butler, a retired banker and businessman. Other Grand Lodge Officers installed today include: John K. Young, a Philadelphia attorney, deputy grand master; Hiram P. Ball, a Pittsburgh industrialist, senior grand warden; W.

Orville Kimmel, a Harrisburg funeral director, junior grand warden; Louis Bacharach, a Philadelphia businessman, grand treasurer; and Ashby B. Paul, of Harrisburg, grand secretary. Friday in the Charles A. Morrison Funeral Home for Arthur Wilson, 84, of 310 Central Avenue, who died Wednesday afternoon in the Oil City Hospital. The Rev. Malcolm Palmer, interim pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiated. Interment was in the Brandon Cemetery.

Kiwanis to Hear Local Minister OIL CITY The Rev. Virgil E. Maybray, pastor of the Grace Methodist Church, will address the luncheon meeting of Kiwanis Club at 12:15 p. m. Tuesday in the Sylvania Room of the YMCA.

His subject will be "Where Now Are Your Good Intentions." The program chairman is Russell Campbell. service June 2, 1917, and was discharged May 6, 1919. He is survived by several nieces and nephews. It is customary for the worthy advisor to be crowned queen during the ball, but due to injuries received in a alcident on Dec. 11, Miss Edwina Coughlan, the worthy advisor, will be unable to attend. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery. Mrs. Anna Kelley, Native of Germany Succumbs Today OIL CITY Mrs. Anna Kelley, 76, wife of George H. Kelley of 415 W.

Fourth Street and a native of Germany, died at 7:35 a. m. today in the Oil City Hospital where she was admitted shortly after 5 a. m. today.

Born Nov. 4, 1889 in Germany she was the daughter of Michael and Theresa Leikam Maier. Mrs. Kelley was a member of St. Stephen's Church.

She also was a member of the Court St. Rita, Catholic Daughters of America here. She was united in marriage to George H. Kelley in July, 1911. Mrs.

Kelley is survived by her husband and one daughter, Mrs. Wendall (Christina) Kiefer of Columbus, 0. Also surviving is one sister, Mrs. Theresa Allen of Oil City; one grandson and two great grandchildren. Friends will be received any time after 2 p.

m. Tuesday in the Charles A. Morrison Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements will be announced. Ernest Gahring Dies Saturday OIL CITY Ernest C.

Gahring, 80, of 1127 E. Second Street and a retired employe of the Manion Steel Barrel died at 1:30 p. m. Friday in the local hospital. Born Oct.

28, 1885, in Oregon, he was the son of Ross and Martha Ross Gahring. Mr. Gahring came to this area in his childhood and has resided here since. He retired from the Manion Steel Barrel Co. after 54 years of service.

He was married Dec. 24, to the former Ethel Drake, who preceded him in death in January, 1949. Surviving are five daughters, Miss Jane Gahring, at home; Mrs. L. C.

(Violet) Smith of Hadley, and Mrs. Freda Hewston, Mrs. H. W. (Gladys) Gloss and Mrs.

F. L. (Louise) Gibson, all of Oil City; and one son, Merle Gahring of Litiz, Pa. and 30 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren. One son, Norman, also preceded him in death Aug.

Born in Oil City on Feb. 5, 1899, Mr. Deyoe is a past master and trustee of Petrolia I Lodge No. 363, Free and Accepted Masons, Oil City. He served as district deputy grand master of the Twentythird Masonic District from 1949 until 1959 when he was installed into the grand lodge line as junior grand warden.

In York Rite Masonry, he is a past high priest of the Oil City Royal Arch Chapter No. 236; past thrice 3 illustrious master of Keystone Council commander No. 42, Franklin; and past of Talbot Commandery No. 43, Knights Templar, Oil City. For his work in the York Rite Bodies, Mr.

Deyoe was as elected into the Council of Anointed Kings of Pennsylvania, the Keystone Priory No. 26, Knights of the York Cross of Honour; and the United States Premier Conclave, Knights of the Red Cross of Constantine. In Scottish Rite Masonry, Mr. Deyoe, is a member of the Venango Lodge of Perfection, Oil City; and in the Valley of Coudersport, Princes Jerusalem, Rose Croix and Consistory. He is past most master of the Coudersport Chapter of Rose Croix.

For his years of Masonic work, Mr. Deyoe was coroneted an honorary thirty third degree Scottish Rite Mason. He is also a member of Zem Zem Shrine Temple, Erie, and an honorary member of Syria Temple, Pittsburgh, and Lu Lu Temple, Philadelphia. He is a member of the Christ Episcopal Church, Oil City, here he has serevd as a vestryman and senior warden. A World War I veteran, Mr.

Deyoe is past president of the Oil City Lions Club. The Deyoes, who have lived in Oil City all their lives, have a daughter, Mrs. James C. Cassidy, of Ann Arbor, Michigan, and two grandchildren. ROBERT E.

DEYOE Driver Hurt In 1-Car Crash OIL CITY A 25-year-old local man was hospitalized early this morning as a result of a one-car accident on Main Street according to the local police bureau. Injured was Robert Kerekanich, 1022 W. First Street. He is listed in satisfactory condition in the local hospital, suffering from a laceration of the scalp, possible fracture of the right foot and abrasions to both legs. Police said that the injured man was operating a 1961 coupe east on Main when he apparently lost control of the vehicle which jumped the curbing and hit a utility pole broad side.

The driver was thrown from the car and was found lying in a ditch. The pole was snapped from its base. Police listed the accident at 2:20 a. m. today.

Herbert H. Waslohn of Halyday Run Road were honored Sunday at an open house marking their golden wedding anniversary. The event was held in the Lamey Evangelical Fellowship Hall. Decorations included a tiered wedding cake topped with a gold "50" and double gold wedding bands. The gold theme carried out with gold candles and vases filled with gold chrysanthemums.

Hosts for the occasion were their children. Aides were Mrs. Carl Reed, Mrs. Jerry Klinger, Miss Jackie Bunnell, Mrs. Geraldine Cartwright and Mrs.

Howard Coe. Appropriate music was played throughout the afternoon by Mrs. William Rembold. Out of town guests included Andrew Mazak of Pomona, Mr. and Mrs.

Jerry Klinger of Panama City, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Seely of Ypsilanti, Mrs. Lucille Castle of Atlanta, Ga. The guests of honor received many lovely gifts.

Former Resident Promoted by Army; To Retire in July OIL CITY First Sgt. Robert D. Buchanan, former resident of Oil City, has completed 20 years of service with the U.S. Army and will retire in July. Sgt.

Buchanan was promoted to his present rank from the rank of staff sergeant on Dec. 10. His brother, Richard Buchanan, resides at 308 Hoffman Avenue. They are sons of Mrs. William Buchanan of Meadville.
