"The impressive showings which the Democratic party made in the November election nrovided a strong psychological boost to all Democrats in every section of Pennsylvania," Rice said. The dinner at the Farm Show Building will be the first statewide fund raising affair of the party since Sept. 10, 1964 when President Johnson was the principal speaker.

Not much of a plot (Lucy frets about having her son, Jerry, and school chums sing in Mr.

It provides a neat opportunity for young actor Jimmy Garrett to join the t. tnaries Catholics Boys Choir of North Hollywood in a round of well loved Yule-tide favorites. Also visible is Miriam Colon, the strangest seniorita you've ever seen. And that's it. 9 10 (NBC) The Andy Williams Show stages its an nual Christmas wingding and it's a homey, brightly organiz ed treat for dedicated fans of its star. There're more Wil- liams than you can shake holly at: Andy 's wife actress Claud-ine Longet, and their two tots; Andy's brothers, Bob, Dick and Don, and even Andy's mom, Mrs. Jay Williams, who is busy in the kitchen.

Altogether, there are some 22 members the family on hand. Show's theme is the appropriate "You Meet the Nicest People." Production is especially lavish. Price, chairman of the board of trustees of the University of Pittsburgh, said Sunday that Gov. William Scranton is one of about 50 names being considered as a successor to former Chancellor Edward H. Litchfield.

Price's statement came on the heels of an announcement in New York by state Sen. Albert Pechan Saturday night that the governor was under considera tion. Price said he thought Pec- nan statement was "prema ture" but he thought "it was not illogical if Gov. Scranton wants to make a career of edu- cation. However, we have under consideration at the present time close to 50 persons for the post of chancellor," he said.

Scranton, also in New York at the Pennsylvania Society dinner, spent the weekend stating he knew nothing about such an offer. Rumors have been floating around concerning Scranton's possible accession to the chan cellor's post for at least a month. But the Governor's aides contend that Scranton Is interested only in the legislation that remains and finishing out his term. Would Honor Painter WASHINGTON (UPI) -Sen. Paul H.

And, if the stocks have fallen in value, it would be unfair to the new member to expect her to pay in $160 for less than that amount of value. You can use the second meth od you suggest. Then, the new member would pay in an amount equal to each present member share of the club': assets.

You would, of course, have to find a potential new mem ber willing to put in that much money. That can be a problem, So, a different method is usual ly used. Most investment clubs are set up as partnerships. Each time a member puts in mon ey, he or she is credited with "valuation unit," based on the club's worth. In other words, with each contribution, a member buys a share of the assets equal to the amount of money he or she puts in.

Use of this method enables a club to bring in new members who pay in reasonable amounts each meeting. Yes, it does require a fair amount of bookkeeping. This Is one of the reasons I always urge investment clubs or people interested in organizing such clubs to contact the Na tional Assn. of Investment Clubs, 1300 Washington Boule vard Building, Detroit 26, Mich igan, for guidelines on this and other subjects. A relative of mine has just discovered some imperial Russian Government bonds issued in 1916 and due to mature on Dec. 1, 1921. The bonds still have some 514 percent interest coupons attached. We assume these bonds are worthless but want to be sure. Are they? a.

But there is a market for some of those old "Czarist" bonds. And every time there is some thaw in relations between the free world and the Commun ists, there is renewed trading activity in those bonds. This is strictly a speculative market.

It's hard to believe that anyone really expects the Russian government ever to honor debt obligations it claims don't exist. Recently, Czarist "dollar" bonds of the issue you mention have been quoted bid; ZVt asked."
