Kestner Jr. WAYNESBORO Irvin Wiley Kestner 62, of Waynesboro, died Sunday, April 26, 2015, at his residence. He was born Jan.

12, 1953, in Waynesboro, son of Wiley E. and Annie Gertrude Bailey Kestner. He was a driver for Waste Management. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Ernest and Robert Kestner. He is survived by his daughters, Christy Burcin (Tracy) of Fishersville and Jeannie Skelton (Joseph) of Waynesboro; three grandchildren, Garrett, Cole and Ethan; former wife and mother of his children, Connie Moyer; sisters, Lilly Gibson of Charlottesville and Peggy Shaver (Mickey) of Waynesboro; brother, Joseph Kestner of Waynesboro; and nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 1, 2015, at Augusta Memorial Park. There will be no formal receiving of friends. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1920-H Medical Harrisonburg, VA 22801. McDow Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Condolences may be shared at www.mcdowfuneral homeinc.com. Richard T. Coffey STUARTS DRAFT Richard Thomas Coffey, 86, of 135 Dodge St. died unexpectedly at 9:15 p.m. Monday, April 27, 2015, at his residence.

He was born in Nelson County on Aug. 25, 1928, the son of the late Forest and Eva Campbell Coffey. He was a member of the Stuarts Draft Baptist Church and was president of both Coffey Trucking and Top Line Trucking. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Houston Coffey; and a sister, Louise Campbell. Survivors include his loving wife, Barbara Coffey; three sons, Michael Scott Coffey and wife, Kim, of Love, Delmas Coffey and wife, Betsy, of Fishersville and Ronald Coffey of Lynchburg; six daughters, Jackie Duff of Staunton, Wanda Marks and husband, Chris, of Stuarts Draft, Hilda Fisher of Waynesboro, Nancy Baker and husband, Don, of Waynesboro, Linda Raines and husband, Wayne, of Crozet, Dianne Simmons of Waynesboro; two sisters, Ruby Coffey of Lyndhurst and Madeline Hewitt of Waynesboro; grandchildren, Ricky Daw, Whitney Haynes, Kelsi Coffey, Cheyenne Coffey, Levi Coffey and Gabby Marks; as well as many other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, May 1, 2015, at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes with Pastor Billy Coffey and the Rev. Dr. Will Kopp officiating. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers will be Jerry Bryant, Larry Bryant, Roxie Liptrap, Matt Welcher, Jim Grant, Randall Almarode, Petie Eavers and Trent Showalter. 26, 1942, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Joseph and Thora (Hagloff Clear. John was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Broadway. Mr. Clear was retired as an office agent with the Smithsonian Institute, he enjoyed researching on computers, playing the piano and boating. In addition to his parents, Mr.

Clear was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Sams and Mary Clear; six brothers, Robert, Joseph, Herman, James, David and William Clear. Surviving in addition to his wife of six years, is a daughter, Debra Krebs and her husband, Todd, of Manassas; a stepson, Mark L. Hedrick of Elkton; a stepdaughter, Tanya Shea of Timberville; three sisters, Karen Greiner of New Brighton, Pennsylvania, and Lula Pittman of Maugansville, Maryland, and Ida Mae Bird of Lakeland, Florida; and five grandchildren. Halterman MONTEREY Mary Grace (Terry) Halterman, 79, of Monterey, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 27, 2015, at the home of her daughter in Elkton.

She was born March 14, 1936, in Highland County, a daughter of the late George Everette and Ester Elizabeth (McLaughlin) Terry. Mrs. Halterman was preceded in death by two brothers, James Otis and Everett Junior Terry. On Sept. 26, 1964, she married Elmer Eugene Halterman, who survives.

Additional surviving family members include her daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and C. Dale Shifflett II of Elkton; her sister, Carolyn Rexrode and husband, Charles; and her brother, Berlie Terry, all of Mustoe. Services for Mrs. Halterman will be private. Box 152, Elkton, VA 22827. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at obaughfuneralhome.com. Charlotte W. Long STAUNTON Charlotte Geraldine "Jerry" (Warren) Long, 79, wife of Pastor Donald Lee Long of 400 Peach passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at her residence. Mrs.

Long was born Aug. 28, 1935, in Chesterfield, a daughter of the late Ernest Freeman and Jessie Jeanette (Taylor) Warren. "Jerry" was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, the Juliana Gordon Hayes Mission Circle and was known by all as the "Nursery Nanny." She was a 1954 graduate of Thomas Dale High School, and in 1972, she received the Certificate of Service award from the Children's Home Society for her foster care of more than 20 children. Mrs. Long was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Women, she assisted with the church's meals program, she enjoyed bird watching, flower gardening, puzzles, reading, spending time at the beach and the York River.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Long was preceded in death by a son, Jack Long; and a sister, Patricia Ellis. Surviving in addition to her husband of 58 years, are seven sons, Tony L. Long and wife, Sandy, of Elkton, Russell Long and wife, Stacy, of Waynesboro, Andrew B. Long and wife, Melody, of Staunton, Donald L.

Long Jr. of Front Royal, Richard L. Long and wife, Tiffany, of West Virginia, Matthew Long and wife, LaTayna, of Waynesboro and R. Michael Long and wife, Mary, of Staunton; nine daughters, Pamela L. Bennett of Verona, Sandra M.

Kempton and husband, Chris, of Stuarts Draft, Mickie Toman of Stuarts Draft, Katherine Renee Rhea of Gloucester, Gwynne S. Bradbury and Sarah M. Long, both of Newport News, N. Kim Murphy and husband, Tommy, of Kentucky, Amy Elizabeth Long of Staunton and Maria G. Long of Roanoke; two brothers, Forest Taylor Warren of Florida and Robert Jackson Warren of Richmond; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive.

A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 2, 2015, at Christ United Methodist Church by the Revs. Sarah D. Locke and Dave Rochford. The family will receive friends following the service.

Burial will be private in McKinley United Methodist Church Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Juliana Gordon Hayes Mission Circle and the Thursday Meal's program, including the delivery persons. Thomas E. Twisdale STUARTS DRAFT Thomas Everette Twisdale, 17, of Stuarts Draft, died Tuesday, April 28, 2015. He was born Aug. 9, 1997, in Fishersville, son of Bobbie Twisdale II and Joy Zinsmeister Twisdale. Thomas loved and was loved by his family.

His sense of humor and smile, that could light up a room, made all who knew him, love him; friends were everything to him and he loved making them laugh. He loved music and writing poetry, was creative and artistic. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Louise Zinsmeister. Surviving are his parents, Joy Twisdale and Bobbie Twisdale; sister, Katherine Twisdale and fiance, Jacob Atkins; brother, Benjamin Twisdale; paternal grandparents, Bobbie and Peggy Twisdale; aunts, Tia Howell (Clark), Lisa Petterson (Jason), and Geri Foote (Neal); and uncles, Fred Zinsmeister (Robin) and Milton Twisdale (Kim). A memorial service will be at 4 p.m.

Thank you I would like to give a big attaboy to the Staunton and Augusta County fire departments for the great job they did on the night of Feb. 27. My barbershop is located on West Beverley Street, beside a business that was destroyed by a fire. Why my shop was not destroyed by the fire is because of the quick response of the local fire units and their professionalism and, of course, God was looking out for our community barbershop. Thanks.
