Opry Cameo Roving country-music ambassador and Opry star George Hamilton IV is back from four weeks in the British Isles and an additional two weeks of performing in New Zealand. Traveling the world especially the United Kingdom is common practice for North Carolina-born singer-songwriter Hamilton. But this spring's tour, entitled "Easter in the Country," constituted a new approach.

"I must admit that having done three years of 'Country Christmas' concerts in England, I was a little concerned that it would be hard to follow those tours," Hamilton says. "What a pleasant surprise to find out just the opposite was true." One of the tour's highlights, the singer says, was a Edinburgh appearance as part of evangelist Billy Graham's "Mission: Scotland '91." "I've been invited by Cliff Barrows to be one of the guest soloists during Dr. Graham's services in Aberdeen and Glasgow in late May and early June and I'm sure looking forward to that," Hamilton says.
