until 8 p.m. Tuesday November 18th. Ross died on November 15th at the age of 87. He was preceded in death his rst wife, Verona Jean Ga White, and his second wife, Ethel Marie Shirley Alexander Whit and his daughter Vicky Dowden. He enjoyed a close relationshi with his nine children (including 5 step-children), 24 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

He is survived by Glen White Tim and Janet Ford, Mark and Patricia White, Tina White, Jim and Terry McIlwain, Steve and Sandra Frith, Charles and Tina McManis Earl Alexander and Renee Fanning, and their children and grandchildren. He was an active and long-time member of St. Presbyterian Church. The family would like to express our appreciation to our special friends and supporters, including: Jim Connell, Do Reeves, the at The Glen, Hospice of Shreveport Bossier, and his associates at the Beck Building. Billy Ross White was born on January 17, 1927 in eld Louisiana.

After graduating from eld High School in 1943 he worked in the Navy Shipyards in Orange, Texas. He enlisted in the Army in 1945 and served in the European Theater for tw years. He earned a B. S. Degree in Geology from Centenary College in 1951.

He began his career in the oil and gas industry hustling jugs fo Seismograph Service Corporation (SSC). As party chief, his experience with eld interpretations played a major role in his futur success, particularly as concerns seismic interpretation and management. Ross joined Placid Oil Company in Shreveport in 1956 as District Manager. He enjoyed a 23 year association with his boss mentor and friend, Mr. W.

F. (Dink) Dalton. Mr. Dalton was an engineer by training, but an optimist and explorationist to the cor and Ross was the conduit that made things happen and happen they did! Their friendship ultimately resulted in discovery the huge Black Lake Field in Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana. Blac Lake proved to be one of the largest oil elds in Louisiana in th last forty years.

This achievement alone assured Ross distinguished career as a successful exploration geologist. However prior to and following the discovery of Black Lake Field, Ross and his geological found oil and gas reserves in many other areas, including Lucky Field, Bienville Parish, Louisiana (Sligo-Hosston-Cotton Valley); Olla, Little Creek and Nebo Fields, LaSalle Parish, Louisiana (Wilcox); Pool Creek Field, Jones county, Mississippi (Smackover); Thompson Creek Field, Wayne County Mississippi (Sligo-Hosston); Alta Loma Field, Galveston County, Texas (Frio) and Nottingham-East Nottingham Fields, Saskatchewan, Canada (Mississippian-Devonian). In 1979, Ross joined Copeland Oil Company as Vice-Presiden and Exploration manager. He immediately found success with extensions to Panther Creek Field, Claiborne Parish, Louisiana Grand Cane Field, DeSoto Parish, Louisiana. After two years with Copeland and a brief stint with Huggs, Incorporated, Ross became an Independent Petroleum Geologist in 1982 where consulted and continued to pursue and drill prospects in the Ark La-Tex area.

Ross is a ed Petroleum Geologist and was a member the Shreveport Petroleum Club, and the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) until last year. He served as Vice President of the Shreveport Geological Society in 1990 and President in 1991 and he was recognized as an honorary member in 1993. He served the Gulf Coast Association of Geological Societies (GCAGS) as Vice-chairman in 1970, Registration Chairman in 1976, Editor in 1984 and Treasurer in 1993. He has authored papers related to geology of Black Lake Field for World Oil in 1966 the AAPG Bulletin in 1972 and the GCAGS Transactions in 1966 He was honored by GCAGS in 2001 with a dedication to him in their Transactions (Volume 51, 2001) publication. His love for the outdoors is legendary.

In spite of his bus schedule, he always found time to sh. Ross was a dedicated family man, consummate gentleman, devoted Christian, patriot and caring friend to all who have known him. His passion to explore to drill deeper, to master the elements and nd oil and gas production was his trademark for sixty-two professional years. Ros nally retired from his job in the Fall of 2013. He worked at his jo full-time for as long as he could get out of his bed and drive himself to his ce because he loved his job and it was a major par of who he was.

He was an amazing father and a professional geologist for life. He was a man of principle, a geologist to the core and a friend, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather forever. Pickard was born December 3, 1938 to W. E. and Idell Thompson Denmon in Taylor, AR and she died Friday, November 14, 2014 in Shreveport, LA. She was a native of this area and a former resident of Bossier City, returning to Lake Erling in 2000 to make her home. She was a faithful wife, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother She was a graduate of Sarepta High School, class of 1957 and wa a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Dr. William A. Pickard; daughter, Lisa Alderman and husband, Rev. Alderman of Sheridan, AR; sons, Wade Pickard and wife, Sherrie of Taylor, AR; Tim Pickard and wife, Kathy of Haughton, LA; Rev. Todd Pickard and wife, Cathy of Sarepta, LA; 12 grandchildren, Billy and wife, Katie; Nathan and wife, Brandi; Mark and wife, Kaitlyn; Jennifer and husband, Blake; Jessica; Trey and wife, Savannah; Miranda; Morgan and husband, Sam; Erica and husband, Blake; Justin Nikki and husband, Ryan and Cody; seven great-grandchildren Sadie, Garrett, Willie, Levi, Kirby, Keaton and Chloe; sister, Gloria Jean Morgan and husband, Harace of Sarepta, LA; sisters-in-law Joyce Duck of Minden, LA and JoAnn Pickard of Sarepta, LA; a number of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by he parents, Rev. W. E. and Idell Denmon; sister, Bonnie Wayne Garner brothers-in-law, Wilbur W. Pickard and Frankie A.

Wiley was born May 27, 192 9 in Waycross, GA and passed away November 12, 2014. was in the United States Ai Force for 21 years, and was also proud to be a Mason with th Masonic Lodge in Southern Hills. He was a member of the Fellowship United Methodist Church, Bossier City, LA. Wiley is preceded by parents, Wiley Talmadge Baker, Sr. and Sarah Alilia Moore Baker; sisters, Minnie Holder, Betty Brooks step-mother, Pearl Baker.

Left to cherish his memory is wif of 64 years, Luella Oliver Baker; his son, Douglas Edwin Bake of Normand, ID; daughter, Suzanne Churchman and husband James of Shreveport, LA; sisters, Patricia Bunting and Jean Harton both of High Springs, FL; grandchildren, Cheri Miller, Donni Bradshaw, David Bradshaw, Brenda Baker, Janice Baker and Brian Baker, and ten great-grandchildren. A funeral mas will be held at the Cathedral of St. John Berchmans on Tuesday, November 18th at 10 A.M Final blessing and intermen will follow at Rose Neath Cemetery Bossier. Visitation will be held at Rose Neath Funeral Home Bossier from 5 to 7 P.M on Monday, November 17th. Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Norman and Marie Hyde and Sam and Thelma Neal. rey was born on June 11, 1980. He graduated from Capt Shreve High School and attended LSU-S. In the past, he had worked for Brookshires and Best Buy. Presently, he has been employed in merchandising at Sears.

Serving as pallbearers will be Steve Brocato, Paul Fisher, Keith Hood, Jimmy Martin, Martin Reynolds, Eddie Scott, and Michael Scott. has been the most wonderful son, brother, and uncle his family. Christian and generous spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew him. In lieu of owers, donations may be made to St. John Berchmans Cathedral.
