(Crowley) BITUARIES Elizabeth Weiss died peacefully on March 10, 2015, in Carson City, Nevada, at the age of 96.

Betty was born in Eve, Missouri, on February 2, 1919, to John W. and Lillian (Kearns) Gordon. She was raised on a small farm in Eve along with eight brothers and three sisters who attended a one-room schoolhouse (Shiloh) until they went to high school. The Gordon home was the gathering place for the younger generation where father (a railroader) and her brothers called at square dances. Betty, her mother, and sister Polly all played piano and loved to dance, sing, and play hymns.

There was also a baseball diamond on their farm property where teams came from other towns to defeat the current champs. Betty completed her education in a stenographic and commercial training course at Phoenix Junior College in Arizona. During this time, she lived with her eldest sister and worked as a conductorette for the City of Phoenix bus line. She and several members of her family and friends moved to Richmond, California, during World War II, where they worked in the research laboratory for the Standard Oil Company. Betty subsequently worked as an Clerk-Typist for the Army Corp of Engineers in Oakland, California.

She later relocated to Reno, Nevada, where she was a gaming industry employee for many years. Betty was a gentle soul who had a sweet and generous nature. In 1937, the Fort Scott High School yearbook noted: heart is like a She loved all children and was a Foster Grandparent in the Washoe County School District for several years after she retired in Reno, Nevada. She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn (Weiss) who resides in Sparks, Nevada; brother John Gordon of Clear Lake, California; sister Pauline Alsop who lives in Overland Park, Kansas; grandsons Gordon Matthew Knafelc of Matfors, Sweden, and John of Fallon, Nevada; granddaughters Kara Knafelc of California, and Stephanie of Sparks, Nevada; and four great-grandchildren (Kyle and K.C. of Fallon, Nevada, and Harmony and Crystal Knafelc of Matfors, Sweden).

Betty was preceded in death by her daughter, Jeraldine (Weiss) Knafelc; her parents; brothers Walter Richard Archibald Robert Vernon, Dean, and Dale; sisters Lucy Allen and Una Todd; and former husbands Quentin Wittsell, William Weiss, and Roger Coffman. The family would like to thank the staff at Mountain View Health and Rehabilitation Center in Carson City for their kindness, compassion, and dedication. caregivers fondly referred to her as A private graveside service was held at the Mountain View Cemetery in Reno on Thursday. 12, 1915 Mar. 7, 2015 Harold Baxter Mead III passed away at the age of 99 and He is preceded in death by his former wife Betty (Henri) Mead. He is survived by his daughter Kathleen Mead (Christopher Jensen), grandson Erik Mead Jensen and good friend Tricia Grose. true passions were music and "ying. He started playing timpani in high school and continued on as an arranger and to play Jazz drums for many of the big Swing bands in San Francisco during the and including the Jack Ross Combo, the Art Rowley Band and his own, Hal Mead Orchestra.

He was an accomplished pilot with both instructor and commercial ratings. He was a member of the Army Air Corp during WWII and "ew airplanes from age 16 to 90. He was never happier than when he was "ying. Hal grew up in Berkeley, lived in Orinda, Lake Tahoe, Sonoma and Napa. He was a residential and commercial real estate broker for California and Nevada and served as president of the American Mortgage Exchange in 1966.

He was a proud member of the Bohemian Club since 1967 and the San Francisco Yacht Club since 1984. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 11AM at Sunset View Mortuary, junction of Fairmount and Colusa in El Cerrito. Harold Baxter Mead III Born April 27, 1918 in Bessemer, Michigan, he died March 9, 2015 at Northern Nevada Medical Center, with family at his side.

Sarge was a decorated WWII Army veteran and served in the Asiatic Campaign. He was recognized with the Bronze Battle Star, among other medals. Mr. Buchko was a graduate of Western Michigan University, and he had a long and distinguished career with the State of Michigan Department of Corrections. Starting as a counselor, he became the Administrator of the Reception Diagnostic Cen- ter; was Deputy Director of Corrections for a time; served on the Parole Board for 14 years; and ended his career serving as Superintendent of the Prison Camp Program.

Upon retirement, Mr. Buchko and his wife Mary moved to Nevada, where he indulged his enjoyment of hardware stores by starting a second working for the Commercial Hardware Store in Reno. He leaves behind Mary, his wife of 67 years; his son and daughter-in-law Mark and Suzie Buchko; his daughter and son-in-law Margaret and Marc Chase; and his grand daughters Mikaela and Samantha Chase. Mr. Buchko will be deeply missed.

Buchko June 25, 1926 March 4, 2015 Otto Marsh passed away peacefully on March 4, 2015. Otto was born on June 25, 1926 in Muskogee, OK to Jane and George. In 1940, the family moved to CA, where Otto attended Ba- High School. After graduating from high school, Otto enlisted in the US Navy and served until the end of World War II. In 1957, Otto moved to Reno with his two children, Rick and Cyndi to begin work as a Sales Manager for Furniture.

A year later he met his second wife, Thelma. In 1990, Otto retired from Furniture after 45 years of service and joined Thelma in Westport, CA where they owned and operated the Westport Inn. Otto is survived by his children Rick (Jeanne) and Cyndi (Shannon), brother George (Del Louise), step-daughter Alana Byrne (Rick), grandchildren Beth Webb, Tammy (Dave) Doriot, Todd (Cheri) Webb, Jamie Byrne, Carly and Daryn Marsh, great grandchildren Fallon, Amber, Sami, Wade, Sky, Shilo, Brenden, Garrett, Carson and great great grandchildren Dallie and Haisely. Otto Charles Marsh April 27, 1921 March 17, 2015 Eunice Elizabeth (McCarthy) DuCharme a 55-year Nevadan, died peacefully March 17 in Reno, following a brief illness. Eunice raised three children in Las Vegas with her husband Roger before moving to Carson City in 1972 so her husband could help open the Ormsby House, and then co-manage the Hardman House. They remained in Carson City until the late-80s, when they returned to southern Nevada. She is survived by her children: Donna DuCharme of Reno, Doug DuCharme (Judy Howell DuCharme) of Las Vegas and Darlene DuCharme of Sonoma, California; four grandchildren: Dennis DuCharme (Natalie) of Las Vegas, Desiree Romero (Anthony) of Las Vegas, Natasha Bourlin (Chris Christiansen) of Reno, Sarah Bell of Sonoma and great-granddaughter Marissa Romero.

Eunice is preceded in death by her husband Roger and grandchild Adara Myette DuCharme-Bell. Eunice accompanied her politically active husband to many events such as the 1969 Inaugural Ball in Washington D.C., the 1968 Republican National Convention, and local hotel openings, for which she appeared on the front page of the Las Vegas newspaper with Nevada dignitaries. She loved to play the slots, share stories with her family, and listen to music. Her years were spent in Reno near her family. her Irish-American heritage, she passed away on St Day, her favorite holiday.

Eunice Elizabeth (McCarthy) DuCharme November 26, 1947 March 14, 2015 Rita Huneycutt, 67, passed away on March 14 after a sudden and unexpected illness. Her family and friends are shocked and devastated by the loss of this beautiful, vibrant woman. Rita was born to Adam and Goldia Osborne in Paintsville, Kentucky. She was the oldest of six children. The family lived in a remote area of Kentucky on a two acre farm until Rita was 16 years old.

She attended a one room, all grades elementary school, and attended middle school in Jefferson, Kentucky. father was a well known minister and Rita played piano as a child for the church. The family later moved to Arizona, where Rita graduated high school in 1966. Rita began college at the University of Arizona and moved to Reno in August 1970, where she continued her undergraduate degree and received a Bachelor of Science from UNR in 1972. She received her Master of Education from UNR in 1976, and later a Doctor of Education from the University of San Francisco in 1991.

Rita taught high school at Reed and Reno High Schools from 1972-1980. She joined Truckee Meadows Community College as a part time business instructor in 1972. She was hired as a faculty member in the TMCC Division of Business in 1980 and by 1985 was Assistant to the President. She received her Doctor of Education while working full time at TMCC, traveling to the University of San Francisco on weekends to take classes. After serving many roles in the college, she retired as a Senior Vice President in 2002.

During her distinguished career she served twice as interim President in 1997 and 2002. She was always willing to serve the college and the community by taking on intense roles and insisted on keeping the interests of the students as her priority. In addition, Rita was the guiding force behind the rental and remodel of the top "oor of Old Town Mall in 1994-1995 as well as two buildings on Meadowood Mall Circle two years later. These buildings were used for classroom and space and allowed for the expansion of operations off campus. Rita was a cheerleader for other women and their successes when local women were just breaking into leadership roles.

She demonstrated that leadership in higher education could be different by becoming the female community college president. She encouraged all who worked around her to advance the cause of education for all. Dr Huneycutt was a strong supporter of the TMCC Foundation and was a donor for over twenty years. She generously supported the Dr Harry Huneycutt Allied Health Scholarship after the passing of her late husband. Rita furthered her belief in the importance of education through her volunteer involvement in many organizations including Nevada Fund, Soroptimist International of Truckee Meadows, Education Collaborative of Washoe County, Sparks Chamber of Commerce, American Heart Association, as well as many others.

She was recognized as Woman of Achievement with the NWF and later went on to become a board member. She was always a strong advocate for education and enjoyed participating in organizations that provided mentoring and scholarships to young women in particular. She and her late husband were very active and supportive of UNR Athletics and were an important part of the Wolf Pack family. They would frequently accompany the teams to away games, NCAA tournaments, and Bowl games. Rita supported the academic achievements of the athletes and she and Harry gave the lead gift for the Peterson Academic Center.

She initiated the Rita and Harry Huneycutt Academic Excellence Awards Brunch that honored over 250 athletes and donors. Rita and Harry were honored with the Jake Lawlor Award, the highest honor awarded by the UNR Athletic Department. Her generosity and support of the pro- ram were unprecedented. The single most important part of life was family. She was a loving, devoted mother, stepmother, grandmother, sister, and aunt.

Rita and her husband, Dr Alan Gubanich, had one daughter. Later on, when she married the late Dr Harry Huneycutt, she took on the role of matriarch to a large extended family with sincere love and devotion. Family was never far from her mind or heart. She absolutely adored her grandchildren and spent as much time with them as she was able. She was incredibly proud of her family and loved them deeply.

Rita is survived by her daughter, Dr. Kimberly Luikart (Bill), her stepchildren: David Huneycutt (Anella), Sherry Huebner, Alyson Huneycutt, and Carrie Anne Huneycutt; her grandchildren: Rita and Jackson Luikart; her stepgrandchildren: Dr. Marissa Huebner (Zao Naegele), Erika Huebner, Lauren Huneycutt, Jake Huneycutt; her brothers: Ron Osborne (Betty), Adam Osborne (Karen), Josh Osborne (Teahna), and sister Rebecca Osborne. husband, Dr Harry Huneycutt, passed away in 2013. Rita was an inspiration to everyone who knew her.

She was kind, generous, loyal, and a strong role model. She will be dearly missed by the community, her friends and colleagues, and most especially by her loving family. The family would like to thank the staff at Renown Hospital for being so caring and respectful to Rita, and for the compassion shown to her loved ones during such a time. The memorial service will be held Saturday March 28, at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 6695 Mae Anne Avenue, Reno, NV, at All are welcome at this celebration of her life. A scholarship is being formed through Nevada Fund in name, with the recipient to be a TMCC student.

Dr Rita Carolyn Huneycutt Tiffany Ann Frederick, born February 13, 1971, 44, a lifelong resident of Reno Nevada, passed away too soon on March 10th, 2015 after a long battle with cancer. Tiffany attended Stead Elementary, Obrien Middle School and Wooster High School. She was a loving granddaughter, daughter, a dedicated mother, She was preceded in death by her father Michael Frederick; she is survived by her Grandparents Ed and Bonnie Aulter, loving mother Sherry Frederick, son Dalton Frederick, her youngest, daughter Mayci Frederick and granddaughter Grace Ann Frederick. Her friends knew her for her beauty inside and out matched with an uncanny quick wit and humor.

Tiffany was a cowgirl through and through. She was that person who made you laugh, and whatever you were going through she had the right words to say with an open heart and a gentle way of making you feel better. A memorial will be help Saturday March 28th, 2015 from 5pm-12am at the Sparks Elks Lodge 517 South Rock Boulevard, Sparks, NV. The celebration and remembrance will be held in potluck style so bring something to add to the table and enjoy an open bar generously provide by childhood and lifelong friend Mr. Greg Wells.

Tiffany Ann Frederick Kathlyn (Kitty) Edwards Westervelt born March 7, 1924 in Jacksonville, Florida to Ernest and Dora Burch Edwards, passed in peace Monday, March 16, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, six sisters and her husband, Henry (hank) Westervelt. Kathlyn is survived by her son Mark and his wife Rocheann of Reno, a niece Sue Woodwell of Tequesta, Florida and a niece Ashton Camp of Wytheville, Virginia. She was a member of St ohns Presbyterian Church, a Life member of Nevada Society of Scottish Clans (clan Donald) and a Life member of 20th Century Club.

Kathlyn passes away peacefully at Villa. Many thanks for the loving care she received from her caregivers and Gentiva Hospice. Honoring her wishes, her body was donated to the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine. Contributions in her name may be made to St Johns Presbyterian Church, Clauson Library, 1070 W. Plumb Lane, Reno, 89509 Kat hl yn Kitty Edwards Westervelt Born in Concord, California and passed away peacefully at his home in Silver Springs, Nevada with his wife Cyndy Deluca-Dalton at his side.

Greg was a proud member of IBEW Local 302 in Martinez CA. for 30 years. Greg leaves a large, loving family and many lifelong and recently made friends. He is survived by his wife, Cyndy; father, Bob; son, Rob; daughter-in-law, Joannie; and granddaughter, Marina. Also, sisters, Rhonda (Croy), Karen (Howard), and Cindy (Underwood).

In addition, Greg will be fondly remembered by his many stepchildren and their families. In his weeks at home, under the care of hospice, Greg and Cyndy asked there be no services, and in lieu of "owers, donations to St. Hospice in Reno, 3605 Grant Dr Reno, NV 89502 in name will be welcome.
