Mary's Church, Kingston. In addition to his widow. the former Stella Perna, he is survived by two sons, James, Poughkeepsie, and Joseph of California: a Mrs. Regina Palazzolo. Poughkeepsie; a sister, Mrs.

He was born in Nanuet, the son of William and Kate (Cooke) Mitchell. He was retired as a mail clerk in the business office of Granite Mines, Greenwich, Conn. A resident of this community the last seven years, he was a member of the Smith Street A ME. Zion Church, Poughkeepsie, and for 50 years had been district superintendent of the Long Island and New York A.M.E. Zion Conference and founder of their youth movement.

He was a past trustee and lay reader of Westbury. L.I.. M.E.. Zion Church. In addition to his widow.

She was retired and had been a teacher at Arlington High School for approximately 20 years. A resident of Florida the last four years, she had formerly resided In Poughkeepsie for approximately 20 years. She was a member of the Arlington Teachers Association. the National Educators Association, the New York State Teachers Association, the Jewish Community Center. Vassar Temple and was active in the Democratic party.

Waryas The funeral for Victor C. Waryas, 61, former Poughkeepsie mayor and state assemblyman. who died Tuesday at Vassar Hospital after a long illness, will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. from the John L. DelSanto Funeral Home.

He was a member of the Elks Club, served six years on the board of directors of the Dutchess County chapter of the American Red Cross and was vice chairman of the New York State Council of Polish American Democratic Clubs. He was also a member of the building committee of Rehabilitation Programs an honory member of the New York City Police Department Pulaski Association and grand council of the Pulaski Association, a member of the Kosciuszko Foundation, New York City, a honorary life member of the Young American Hose Company, Number 6. and a member of the board of trustees of Americans Mobilized to End Narcotic Abuse, Inc.
